Of course Edge would go for the dumplings. Well, it wasn’t for the actual food, but to meet a certain someone’s wife. And possibly hit on her too. Whistling he looked around the room. Now, where was the lovely wife of Ce? This was going to be the greatest afternoon he had in awhile.

Blissfully unaware that her first guest to the party would be the King of Eblan, Da Qiao was quick to wipe the look of fatigue off her face and replace it with one of glee. “Welcome!” She greeted with such a darling smile. “You are the first one here.” Great, now hopefully he wouldn’t mind taking a few dumplings back to his dorm whenever the party is over. Da Qiao hoped that the allure of free food would incite more visitors to stop by for a plate or two.

“I hope you have a healthy appetite, I’ve made far too many.” She said as she hastily prepared a plate for him.

“They look as delicious as the woman serving them.” He grinned a bit. There was, of course, the thought that he was now flirting with his friend’s wife. But, that was simply how he was. He was a flirt through and through and nothing was really going to change that. “I have never had these before. What is inside them?”

A bright blush appeared upon her cheeks once she heard what this man said. He caught her off guard with that flirtatious comment and even made the poor girl end up stuttering like a schoolgirl. "W-well! I am certain I am not that...um..tasty!" Da Qiao replied with a giggle.

"Oh, I made several different types of dumplings. That particular batch has pork and onion shavings within it." The other dumplings she made were made either with chicken or with vegetables. "I have others if you would like to try but the pork ones tend to be everyone's favorite."

Akihiko stopped by after his quick jog since he was going to cut classes this week. Really, could you blame him after all that's happened? These dumplings smelled good. Even better than the ones they made at Kyoto.

"Hey there," he greeted the lady. "These smell delicious."

Grinning at the newcomer, Da Qiao was quick to usher a plate filled with five dumplings over to Akihiko. “Hello! You are more than welcome to try a few.” She said with a grin. The boy looked a tad famished in her opinion, probably because he was rather lean.

Nah, it was more than likely because of the cardio he does before hitting the punching bags. If he didn't have sleeves, you'd definitely see some muscle there. But that's beside the point. "Thanks. These really smell good. I'm Akihiko by the way. You seem to be new around here."

She giggled softly. "Is it so obvious?" Da Qiao asked with a smile while masking the slight nervousness she feels. Perhaps another reason why she accidentally made so many dumplings was her need to keep busy. The girl had a lot on her mind and her thoughts just kept wandering, the best way to combat this feeling is to just stay active. She was optimistic that her stay here will not prove problematic for her husband but she was worried for the family they both left behind.

"I am Da Qiao; it is a pleasure to meet you!"

She had invited him.

Who was he to reject her offer of kindness? Surely it was a means of an apology, yes? And like Sun Ce, it was not as though he felt he would lose any of his pride by acting civilized with members of Wu. Of course, if Cao Cao had ever chosen to join -- unlikely -- then he would quickly need to change his thoughts.

It would be interesting to see her under those terms, the ones that did not involve war or senseless battles to those of the pacifist beliefs.

His arms folded over his chest, and he believed in spite of the former events that he had returned to his original state of superiority. In the end, he had to admit that food from home was delightful and invoked a great amount of nostalgia.

After all, how long had it been since he'd returned...?

Even though she had invited the Wei general to come down to the lobby to try her dumplings, Da Qiao feared he might not do so. She honestly felt a little odd socializing with anyone from the rival clan but long ago before the age of the warring states, Lord Cao Cao himself was a loyal friend of her father. It would be unfair of her to simply regard Zhang He are only an enemy, especially when even her own husband seem to talk somewhat fondly of the fierce general. They are all away from the battlefield now, far away from the horrors that war brings.

Therefore, what harm could it be to befriend a former foe who now comes in peace? This is the bulk of the lovely Qiao’s logic.

Her eyes widened considerably once she spotted the beautiful Zhang He, she could tell it was he for even now he still held air of gracefulness about him. He looked oddly regal in a sense, more like a lovely princess than a handsome prince but still regal either way. Da Qiao felt a little timid by his presence but she smiled towards him nonetheless with delicious ( ... )

He knew well enough that he stood out. It had been hands that pointed to him the day he arrived and stood beside great men like Zalbag Beoulve and Diego Armando. And there were whispers. Not the kind of great stories or legends that would be passed down, but rather the hesitance that came with addressing him. His flamboyant demeanor and eloquent speech had rendered more than a few raised eyebrows and looks that plainly stated confusion ( ... )

The nervousness she felt once he acknowledged her slammed into her like a ton of bricks! She almost couldn’t believe that she was talking to one of Wu’s most dreaded enemies alone like this. Such a feat would have never been possible but here in Aegean, it seems that it is. Da Qiao managed to stay relatively calm, her kind smile revealing nothing and her eyes as welcoming as they could be. Unlike her younger sister, she was better at controlling her emotions or that is just how she liked to view herself. Da Qiao had no idea if he could see past her serene smile but she sincerely hoped not ( ... )

Quistis soon arrived to help Da Qiao carry the dumplings downstairs. She knocked upon the door politely, waiting for her to answer.

Just when she was about to rush down to carrying the fifth pan downstairs, a loud knock at the door caught her attention. She figured that was Miss Trepe and quickly rushed towards the door to open it. "Hello!" She greeted the blond cheerfully and with a bright smile.

"I was hoping you would come, I think I went a little over board with the dumplings..." A little? That is a horrible understatement! Da Qiao made enough of these delicious treats to feed an entire army.

“If you know any hungry friends, I hope you told them to stop by.”

She took the tray from Da Qiao's hands. "Just a bit," Quistis agreed. "I'm sure most of the dorm'll find a way to help you get rid of them."

"As long as that way does not mean tossing them in the trash!" She said as she hoisted the other tray within her arms. "Come, let's head downstairs." Da Qiao kept the door open by using the stopper at the end of it so neither of them would have to worry about trying to open it with their hands full. The trays were a little warm but not hot, as they were earlier, Da Qiao was smart to let these trays cool off by the window for a few minutes.

"Miss Trepe?" She called over to her once the two of them reached the stairs. "Where are you from?" Da Qiao already figured that Quistis isn't from China, the bright blond hair gave that away.

Donning one of his simpler outfits, the Altean prince found his way downstairs after receiving the invite for dumplings. Marth hadn't the slightest idea what a dumpling was, but trying new food wasn't a bad idea. There were so many odd foods from different kingdoms that were so tasty. Like ice cream.

Welcoming the newcomer with a warm greeting, Da Qiao was quick to usher a plate of her alluring dumplings to him. Each dumpling was folded neatly in a Jiaozi-like style, meaning that these dumplings were crescent shaped with pleated edges to seal the meat of vegetables inside. This style of dumplings is usually the most popular but she did make a few ball shaped Har Gow dumplings that are filled with chicken and onion.

“Welcome! I hope you’ll like them!”

"Thank you very much," Marth said with a warm smile, accepting the plate. "They smell very good." They sure had quite the inviting aroma, whatever they were.

“Those are vegetable dumplings-“ She stated after deciding it would be best to explain what this kind of food are. “They were fried using just a little bit of oil. The vegetables inside are fried broccoli, eggplant with some apple shavings mixed within.”

Reaching for the ginger sauce she made specifically for the vegetable dumplings, she offered it to Marth to try. “They might be a little sweet but trust me, they are savory!"
