I wanted to make a Girls of Gurren Lagann post, but the truth is, I just wanted to make a post about Nia. And Nia and Simon. As someone who pretty much never has a main het pairing in any series, Simon/Nia took me completely by surprise, because I never expected to even care about it, and because of how much I came to love it

XDDDD!! I noticed Rossiu was the one marrying them because I heart Rossiu (Saiga Mitsuki, omg ♥ only the ONLY female love-of-my-life-seiyuu, and the VOICE OF WOLFRAM - which is why she's the girl!Seiyuu love of my life).
XDDDD!! I AM SO HAPPY THAT YOU ARE PROUD ♥ I never expected to fall so hard for Nia, either! I think I saw her and then sparkled at her character design, and then I watched the series and sparkled even brighter because I thought she and Simon were amazing together. ♥ I have never fallen as hard for a female character as I have for Nia, or for a het pairing as much as Simon/Nia! ;)

This Nia character seems interesting (and yes, I tend not to like the female characters in most anime as wellXD they're all so unbelievably Mary Sue-ish).

Random C had some great Gurren Lagann reviews here: very detailed and full of spoilers, but great if you want to figure out if it's the kind of show you'll like! ;)
YAY for someone else who feels the same way I do about female characters! ;) I always think it is not that I do not want to like them! They are so hard to like. *laughs* The only few I like are:
(1) The female characters in Gurren Lagann (they're all very well done)
(2) The female characters in Tales of the Abyss
(3) Juliet in Romeo X Juliet
(4) Kei in Moyashimon (I adore her!) WAIT, KEI'S A GUY WHO LOOKS LIKE A GIRL.

You know it's funny, the GL girls and ToA girls are some of the only female characters I've really loved recently (or ever) too! Female characters really do get the short end of the stick characterization-wise most of the time. Or I'm watching shoujo and everyone's exasperating anyway. But omggg GL girls so cute! I've talked to people who hate Nia for being all Mary Sue too, and my basic response was like ......let's move on! =D Because I didn't really want to go there. She's just so cute, it's hard for me to understand why people wouldn't like her. ;_; Especially after what she does for Simon.
BESIDES they're such a cute and visually appealing couple omg *__*

XDXDXD On this post on fandomsecrets where someone posted a "Nia is a Mary Sue" secret, and I was secretly and HAPPILY vindicated to see so many people jumping to Nia's defense. We GL fans are so protect-the-princess, too!

XDXDXD Me too. When that happens, I just go, "We are separated by a very wide abyss of understanding from which there shall be no bridge." I don't compromise on my Nia views, which is that she's absolutely amazing. I won't impose it on anyone, but my mind and heart can't be changed on this. I can be persuaded on Kamina and Simon and maybe Viral, but not Nia. ♥
They are such a cute couple. Completely drawn to look perfect together. ♥

*surprised!* I downloaded Gurren Lagann episodes 1 -> 6 from you (well, excluding episode 5?)! O.o; I don't remember DOING THIS? T-t-thank you, I guess. xDDD I think I only watched the first two episodes so far, though! I really enjoyed them and should watch the other ones soon - but just as I was getting into this series Yu-Gi-Oh came and hijacked all my time!
I adore Nia so much~! ♥ I already loved her a lot before you made this post, but now you've given me SO MANY OTHER REASONS to love her... *squee!* (I might even end up shipping Simon/Nia if I can get over what happened to Kamina?)

OH sweetie, nobody who loves Kamina ever gets over missing Kamina. If you wait to get over it you'll miss out the best Gurren Lagann has to offer! It is precisely because Kaminan goes that the best in Gurren Lagann happens. Nia is really something very special, and it would be a great shame to miss out on her because of Kamina.

XDXDXD I must warn you that there is a lot of fandom hate for Rossiu: because actually he is quite an ass at certain points of the anime:
GREAT BIG GURREN LAGANN SPOILERS
he actually does betray Simon, and set up a fake trial to send him to prison. But then he emos on his own and cries in secret because omg it hurts him too! And then later he finds out he was wrong and tries to KILL HIMSELF but Simon (and Kinon, the girl Chi likes) punches a hole through time and space and SAVES ROSSIU. And then Simon tells Rossiu, "I need you." ♥ OMG LOVE. Obviously I am concentrating on only the best parts but STILL. ;)
