I finally had a non-horrible day today, for the first time in two weeks. Last night teferi very patiently waited for my 14-hour day to finish and we had very fine Chinese at the Grand Sichuan in the West Village. Soooooooopdumplings. Okay, it just hurts my brain that you were contemplating this as I was writing a post about references made in "Lucky Ball and Chain." Whoa. (This will make no sense if you are one of those now-unusual people who thinks of a version of Istanbul other than TMBG's, but I think that's relatively unlikely.)

I heard a much older, quintet + crooner version of "Istanbul" once on Radio Paradise, but that's the only non-TMBG version I know.
