i love that they seem to be good for attacking her for matters relating to her uterus and her daughter's uterus when instead her crazy-ass politics and her insane penchant for firing people with little reason.

however apparently it's more acceptable to attack her on the basis of her reproductive organs in the media. *headpiano*

Yeah, I feel bad for the people who are probably dealing with phones ringing off the hook at Fairbanks North Star Borough Library today.

The fact that a working uterus is a liability is an issue to me, but the chatter around the fact is, to borrow your phrase, doing it wrong.

For other news... Um. Well there was Hurricane Gustav, which wasn't as bad as Katrina but still forced NOLA to evacuate and stay evacuated for a bit. I'm glad that it hasn't become the same clusterfuck but is that because the security apparatus is better or because there's less to fuck up now? And is a category 5 hurricane really going to be our new benchmark for "oh, it wasn't that bad...remember when...?" Lower categories and even tropical storms can tear the shit out of low lying areas and kill people.

And there is the story about 300 people arrested so far at the RNC convention. Still-President-Bush & VP Chaney (to steal a phrase from Jon Stewart, because theft is in now) excused themselves from attending, but there's still been a crackdown like something for real is going on down there.

that'll be the day, when it's not. *sigh*

And, yeah. I have heard nothing at all about the RNC aside from what I read on Feministing and in the accounts of LJ acquaintances of mine who do things with Food Not Bombs and the Campaign for Justice. It's sad.
