Unfortunately for Lily, she had yet to make it back to her home. Still seething with irritation over a certain "scientist's" actions, she wasn't looking where she was going. As such, she literally bumped into Lucifer.

"O-Oh I'm sorry." she frowned, looking up at him properly, "I didn't hurt you, did I?"

"No, Lily." He had an arm around her to steady her, but let her go once their eyes met. "I'm hardier than that."

She was a mother, and a wife; she even had some pride in that, as most mothers and some wives did. Lucifer thought of it like playing a guitar: find the right string to pluck.

"How is James now, do you think?"

Stiffening, Lily quickly searched her memory for his face or his voice. Finding nothing, she stepped away from him and tensed. Was he using some sort of Mind Magic on her?

I shouldn't be here.

Yet his question caused her to pause. Green eyes widening, she paled and clenched her hands into fists.

"I-I...expect he is watching over our son."

"Harry." He nodded, and motioned with a finger at his forehead. "You've met him here, haven't you? But you never wondered when he got that scar? This place is full of opportunities, Lily."

His expression softened into something sad. "You can't protect him while you're here but the truth is, you can't help him there, either."

The Count had spent most of his day outside of the city, just now making his way back and towards his home. A basket hung at the crook of an arm with several new saplings and seeds tucked safely away within to add to the garden he had managed to revive, along with tending to the soil so it would be safe to plant in further.

He was hardly one to pay much attention to the network, even one to toss the PCD under something when it had been so noisy, such as it had been within the past week.

Ever aware of his surroundings, however, he paused suddenly. Something seemed off, "Strange.."

(OOC: Have a little fail, I kinda suck tagging into these.)

"Off to grandmother's house?" Lucifer steps out of the darkness beside him, smiling slowly. "You're very perceptive, even for what you are."

[No worries did you see my fail intro post XD]

His shoulders tense, but there are no other easily visable signs of him not expecting anyone to just move from the shadows like that, "If Grandmother is content to eat seedlings and saplings." A long nail tapped against the lid of the basket.

"Out for a walk," his own smile was faint, "Or are you the Big Bad Wolf?" Even he knew a few of those fairy tales, Chris helped with that.

(Fail party? XD)

"Well, I hope I'm not grandmother." Lucifer eyes the basket, then D again. "How do you survive here?"

He nods at the city. "Among all these...humans. All of them whining, destroying when it's convenient...."

SONJA THREADS sonny_delight August 18 2011, 05:38:06 UTC
At Lucifer's behest, Sonja spent a good two days stalking around the city with ash and a knife like her own personal highlighters, casting lines of hate and influence everywhere her hooks found purchase. Creeping through alleys, following people subtly enough to never be noticed, prowling the streets of the vast city at night to sense wells of anger, resentment, bitterness and hate she could sink her claws into. Houses or residences that seemed especially promising were marked: a small X of ash smeared into some oft-overlooked corner of the door, a dot of blood on the front step, something not decipherable as a symbol carved haphazardly into a windowsill ( ... )

Friday, Late morning, The mall? iceandivory August 18 2011, 07:00:09 UTC
Hitsugaya Toushirou was tense and alert, even as he sorted through cans of fruits and vegetables in the otherwise empty shop. Hino had told him what she'd thought he needed to know, and he'd in turn informed others. He didn't know what good it would do, but doing nothing was not an option. It became increasingly difficult to do anything at all, however, when it seemed every lead wound up at a dead end. The damn headaches weren't helping either.

Stupid people always doing stupid things.

He sighed, choosing the corn and pear slices over the peas and peaches before standing up to move on.

Don't look now, but there's a woman over there stealing a TV.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Ignore, if you will, the irresistible air she gives off of being someone desirable and important and intense. She's trying to loot over here: there are riots afoot, son.

He's got priorities, okay. :| iceandivory August 18 2011, 20:42:38 UTC
Hitsugaya was utterly speechless at first. His brain was processing the sight, and yet communication between his brain and everything else had halted abruptly. This might have been the only reason he said anything at all.

"It won't work," he finally managed, a single brow raised, voice rife with a mixture of disbelief and condescension. Ignore someone else appearing important and intense? Easy as pie. "What the hell do you plan to use it for?"

So uh. Can Tsuna's hyper intuition pick up that I SHOULD NOT BE AROUND THIS PERSON? onnicomprensivo August 18 2011, 06:29:47 UTC
Tsuna had just gone out for a walk. He needed to collect his thoughts after the differing opinions he'd gotten from the network. And he needed to try to figure out a solution to what was going on with Mukuro.

He needed to think, and sort himself out.

What would Reborn say to him? What would his friends say? He was pondering this when he bumped smack into Satan himself, though he didn't realize that yet.

"--Ah! S-sorry!" He made to move off, trying to overcome his embarrassment for drawing attention to himself.

Lucifer turned to look at him, though, and held out a hand to stop him. The headiness in the summer night air grew more defined: Sin floating through the air, smelling like dust and blossoms.

"Tsuna, right?"

Tsuna stared up at this stranger when he was stopped, gaping. Something, like a silent but urgent siren wail went off inside his head when he looked at whoever this was. His intuition. It reminded him of how he'd felt when he first met Mukuro, but worse. Incredibly uneasy, he wrenched himself away from the strange person, fearful brown eyes not meeting his.

He was even more unsettled by the fact that he knew his name.

This was bad. He didn't know why, but it was bad. He tried edging away. His voice shook slightly when he replied.

"Ah... yeah. How'd... you know my name?"

"There's no reason to be afraid. Not of me." He took a small step closer, hand still up. "My name is Lucifer. I'm an angel."

Which, back home, was often enough to get specific reactions. Here, though, the angels were gatecrashers and homewreckers and Lucifer never knew how people would respond.

After her meeting with Sonja? He knows all her sins, fears and temptations anyway <3 feel_nevermore August 18 2011, 09:05:15 UTC
Raven was sitting on a fallen tree trunk by the lake. Already plotting her sweet revenge against the master. Now that all those petty notions of 'benefit of the doubt' and 'mercy' had left her, she could focus on how showing how much she had enjoy their little meeting some weeks ago and how much her inner demon was upset it had missed that party.

She sensed Lucifer's presence getting closer, and closer to her. But because of the sigil he couldn't sense her presence here. She couldn't help but feel some pride at that. And it didn't even occur to her to try and avoid him. She wasn't afraid of him after all. Not right now at least.

Awesome! youllsayit August 19 2011, 02:02:53 UTC
And he doesn't. Lucifer is paying attention to a lot of things, but he isn't on the lookout for the humans his brothers hid from him. He continued on, and paused by a garden to pull up a squash blossom.

But there's just something overwhelming about Lucifer's presence. So Raven can't ignore him. Not the way she'd like to. Not the way she's always wished she could ignore her Father.

"It's been a while." A bare whisper, she's mostly talking to herself anyway.

He hears her. In this environment he is as his best.

"It has." He doesn't even turn to look at her. "You're looking well."
