YOU WANTED HER TO BITCH HIM OUT. SO HERE YOU GO. Also feel free to mindfuck.showchoirstarAugust 18 2011, 16:38:18 UTC
Rachel was going home as quickly as possible, thank you very much. She had her arms around her messenger bag, which was full of sheet music and a few old records she had unearthed. She had needed to get out of the house -- every single person in the home just made her angry, for some reason, and doing her weekly scavenging of the mall for supplies gave her something else to do.
After all, it wasn't as if she were anyone uniquely special.
LET'S GIVE EM SOMETHING TO BITCH ABOUT~youllsayitAugust 18 2011, 18:58:15 UTC
The mall was not actually one of Lucifer's favorite haunts. There was nothing he could use, and he wasn't interested in harassing scavengers. Usually.
Today, he was seizing every opportunity. Finding Rachel was a bonus. He didn't reveal himself immediately; instead he lurked back, not on the ethereal plane (because he couldn't) but unnoticeable.
"Rachel!" Surprising how, even having never met her fathers, he could mimic their voices so perfectly, and make them echo around the halls. "Where are you?"
WOW WAY TO BE A DICK LUCIFERshowchoirstarAugust 18 2011, 19:24:48 UTC
Rachel froze, her fingers digging into the bag as her eyes widened. That was -- no, it couldn't be, could it? Could they have actually arrived here? After so many months?
Her voice trembled, ever so slightly, as Rachel turned on her heel.
HORST WANTS TO KILL HIM WITH A SKILLET FOR THIS OK.youllsayitAugust 19 2011, 01:15:40 UTC
Lucifer steps out, wearing the guise of one of her fathers. He holds out his arms to her, all the panic and bewilderment and relief crashing down on him in an instant.
Nighttime was Vriska's time for exploring and generally skulking around-- the sun here didn't burn the way the Alternian sun did, but that didn't mean that she liked it, or that she was any less used to sleeping during the day and staying up all night.
The city was hardly deserted at night, and more often than not, she ignored the people that she passed by. And yet for some reason, Vriska felt herself wanting to go up to this strange alien man.
"Hey!" she called out as she trotted over. "So does your species sleep during the day too, or are you just an insoooooooomniac?"
"Actually, I'm kiiiiiiiind of looking for this guy." She really hadn't been, exactly-- but now, suddenly, she was thinking that it would be a really good idea. So what if she didn't have her weapons? She was awesome even without them. And it was high time that she started getting all the irons in the fire here, just like she did at home.
Rip had been out hunting again as usual. The huntress just couldn't help it some nights she had to go out, to roam and kill things and the restlessness had been getting worse over the last couple of months.
As she roamed, something caught her attention that reminded her of a certain Dark Hunter... only worse. She had encounter this before, hadn't she? Still, Rip went to investigate with her musket in hand, primed and ready to fire if need be.
"You don't need that with me, Rip." Lucifer watches her approach, and offers her only a welcoming expression. The friendliness isn't a lie, but it does hide his influence, slowly pressing into her mind, like fog rolling off the bay.
The huntress tilted her head to the side yet kept her hands on her gun as she observed him. Really the smile did little to put her at ease.
"Und vhy do you zay zhat?"
She tried to ignore the uneasy feeling as her own restlessness seemed to make it impossible for her to remain still. Rip started fidgeting a little, caressing the barrel of her musket absently.
THURSDAY because Eleven and the Devil need to meethaspaceteethAugust 18 2011, 23:59:26 UTC
He had been wandering the city all day, taking readings of the soil, the atmosphere, figuring out what minerals and chemicals this planet had on it, to figure out how, exactly, to go about performing a few experiments, making things, planting and growing food.
And, really, he hadn't even realized it'd become night, either. So when he comes across another lifeform in the street he was just blinking in surprise and glancing at the sky. Strange how time flies when you're trying to figure something out. But no matter. "Hello there! I'm the Doctor. Or, well, one of them... you wouldn't happen to know what section of the city I've wandered into, would you?"
YES THEY DO! <3youllsayitAugust 19 2011, 01:31:17 UTC
Lucifer had been busy surveying his handiwork: the rioting, the panicking, the violence and screaming. It was giving him an opportunity to test the loyalties of those around him, more than anything.
Oh but it had other advantages, even if it wouldn't help him open any doorways that were currently closed. For instance, he had met so many newcomers he had otherwise been too busy being good for his brothers to seek out.
"One part looks much the same as another now, Doctor." Lucifer looks at him, smiling in a way that's too warm to be entirely natural.
[ooc: Also, do you have any permissions I need to fill out for Eleven? Lucifer's are here just so I don't step on toes with his obnoxious godmode tendencies ♥ ]
Well, the Doctor supposed that was one way to meet people. Even if it was an eerily disturbing way that he in no way would ever approve of, but that wasn't really the point here, was it? No... the point was that he was standing in the middle of an empty street with a being that, if he were perfectly honest with himself, every instinct he had was telling him to turn and run the other way.
It was an eerily familiar sensation. One he hadn't felt since that day he'd met the Devil on that impossible planet held in an equally impossible orbit around one of the greediest black holes he'd ever seen. "I suppose so. That's what night normally does, casts everything into darkness to the point where a comely home could look the same as an abandoned shack."
He pauses, and while he's feeling a chill run down his spine at that smile he's being given, he's giving one back, tight-lipped but a smile none-the-less. "It's usually common courtesy to give a name when you've already been given one in return."
Lucifer watches him, gaze steady but somehow exploring, as if he's reading words off a page. When the Doctor speaks, his lips quirk in a half-smile, and he waves a hand as if apologizing for forgetting.
"My name is Lucifer." A slight pause; the Doctor is familiar with humans, and there are trickles of memory from another realm, of a blackhole. "But you already know who I am, don't you?"
[No worries bb! Ahhh I'm so happy we're threading again, I've missed you 8D ]
And then there was Shima, who had managed to get stuck out after sunset while out searching for the missing exorcists. The city was still new to him, so he was hardly surprised at how easily he had gotten lost. The best he could do for the moment was find a spot where a streetlight still managed to buzz on and fiddle with his PCD until he could figure out the map function.
"...I'm sure I'm not too far off. C'mon, c'mon, where is this map again..."
The startled cringe Shima gave almost caused him to drop the PCD. He turned towards the unexpected voice, worried for a split second there. When he saw it was only another person, though, he managed a smile.
"Heh, well, yeah, a little..." His answer trailed off. Hold on right there, he sure didn't know who this guy was, so how had he known his name?

After all, it wasn't as if she were anyone uniquely special.
No one would bother her.

"My species doesn't sleep. But what brings you out? It can't be the company." Since so many people were flipping and fighting now.

Lucifer was inches from him, as still as if he'd been waiting to be noticed.
