In another part of the Wastes, Ranma was having the fight of his life. A manic grin crossed his face as his fist slammed into the tough leathery flesh of a blue dragon. Although he knew it shouldn't have, this grin became wider when said dragon roared in pain from his vicious strike. There was something so satisfying about managing to hurt a creature of myth and legend with nothing but one's bare fist. Perhaps it was that feeling of accomplishment it gave him whenever he did so ( ... )

Sango knew enough to recognize that this was his battle--and that she'd seen this boy before. She noted a little wryly that this was the same person who'd advised her of the sand worms in the Wastes--the reason she was out here and could so ineffectively take out her anger.

She would wait until he was done with the dragon, admiring with no hidden awe the sheer ferocity of his assault. Sango leaned against Hiraikotsu about twenty yards away, watching with interest showing through the grim set of her face.

The dragon bellowed in pain as it glared at the cruel, vicious human before him. He knew that those shards had pierced something absolutely painful and vital... which meant that even if it won this fight... it didn't have long to live. Well... it wasn't going to give up until the very end! As far as the reptile was concerned, it was bringing down this human with him ( ... )

Sango waited till he'd made sure the beast was dead and then crossed her arms, moving closer.

"Impressive. Saotome-san, right?"

Though there was no hostility in her, at least not towards Ranma, she was a lot more cold and distant than usual.

"I should thank you for telling me about the sand worms. They make excellent stress relievers."

Well--not really, but they were fairly close.
