Izuna's mind was nothing new to Snape, having been in it multiple times, whether it was when the idiot had landed himself in a coma and Snape had needed to delve inside to both make sure that said idiot was alright and to find information to stave off a war, or when Rhode had decided to have some fun of her own and given everyone nightmares. This though, was new, larger, darker and much more open.

Though open didn't necessarily mean anything good when it came to the mind of Uchiha Izuna, especially when the Uchiha was one who had been taken away and then returned and was slowly regaining bits of his memory. Which was why Snape was wary of taking more steps than he had to without more light than just the flickering orbs in the distance.

So he drew his wand and flicked it once in an attempt to cast 'Lumos'.

The light of Severus' wand collides with the closest lantern, and merges in a sweeping red glow. And when it clears...It's still dark, but the wizard can see through the clarity of Izuna's memory. He's in a tent of some kind, and the wind is blowing outside loudly enough to rustle the walls like the wings of Izuna's blackbirds. It almost drowns out the sound of choked whimpering. Almost ( ... )

Seeing the open anger on Izuna's face is always a new experience each time, but what has Snape's attention isn't the pain or the fear or the smell of blood that hangs thick in the air of the memory. It's the expression on Izuna's face as he looks down at his helpless brother, that thoughtful gaze which always heralds an act of complete and utter stupidity on the Uchiha's part, which stays in Snape's mind. And it brings up a memory of his own, of Izuna telling him about the abilities tied to their eyes, of how it caused sight fade, of Izuna giving his brother his eyes...

He has a feeling that he knows what will happen should he continue, but he raises his wand again and sends out another jet of light.

The solution to the way the floor squishes underfoot, naturally, is to walk on the air above it. Which, Tyki tries to do for a few steps, before he lands again on the floor with a loud squelch!

"Hai, hai..." God, he is so sick of trekking through dreams. He reaches into the pocket of his overcoat and pulls out a cigarette and a match.

He does well to try and look around as he strikes the match and lights the cigarette, but find he still can't see anything. And so he sighs, takes a drag, and tosses the match aside. It fizzles when it lands.

"Now, if I were an exit..."

The brief glow of the dying match sparks the closest blue lantern. The light flares brightly...The man's been on fire for a long time. He's past the point of shrieking; his flesh has blackened and curled away to reveal yellow bone and slick red muscle, his blood is bubbling, and his face is contorted in an ugly mask of horrible agony, mouth gaping wide, eyes rolled back. A caricature ( ... )

There are far more disgusting thing to witness than a burning body. Watching an Akuma skeleton crawl into the mouth of a new host, for one. But Tyki does watch the fool burn with something of amusement across his features. He doesn't need to know the context as to why the man is being burned alive - only that it was probably a joyful moment for whoever did it.

Why else start with the feet, and not the hair, if to watch it for longer?

Tyki takes a harsh drag on the cigarette and continues to watch.

Fox remembers colour symbolism passably well, so she heads for the white lights immediately once she spots them. This is the most promising place to head, right? She'll only find out by going for them, so go she does.

The closer she is to the light, the more the shadows peel away until ...

"Again!"

Two small boys are circling one another in the snow, their bare feet curling just above its surface. One of them is struggling and leaves prints where he's been, whereas the other is a ghost - but he's older than the one who has to try twice as hard. (It doesn't mean he looks any less smug at the littler ones mounting frustration.)

The children both wield a sharp blade in both fist, and at the sharply barked order the smaller one lunges -

- and vanishes in a blur of speed.

There's laughter and the spray of blood, which steams as it arcs through the air and splashes garish and red on the blanket of white. A footstep appears in it and smears away before the two reappear, grappling and yowling, falling to writhing blows as they snap at one another like puppies. This is violent play. Gruesome play.

Surely if they keep this up for long they'll succumb to frostbite, or else accidentally kill one another. Surely.

Fox doesn't like this, doesn't like this at all. It's one thing when she and David play deadly games with dangerous odds, but this is different. These are kids. She ponders stepping forwards, but...she wonders if she'll even be able to do anything. The little one is obviously inhumanly fast, and...that's a point. He's inhumanly fast, so she starts to wonder if he's even human. Not to mention that the other doesn't seem to be there entirely at all. No, they can't be in danger if they're so inhuman as that. She watches the scene quietly, though the look on her face is grim.
