Characters: David Xanatos and Fox (halflingfox)
When: The Minbari Skyscraper
Where: Soon after Fox's first post.
Rating: Pg-13 for likely suggestive themes.
Summary: Since they're making a game of pretending to be enemies, David and Fox can't publicly act like a couple, so they've decided to meet in private, somewhere that isn't involved in their game.

But we might have to take a time-out. )

Fox went in via a back entrance and stole up the stairs to the third floor, where she pushed the elevator call button. Then she headed back down the same stairs, determined to come up behind David while his attention was on the elevator. It wasn't the most clever of plans, but...she wasn't trying all that hard. This was just a bit of a laugh, more on the level of a prank than anything else, trying to surprise him.

He gave a quick glance at the elevator when it started moving, but it wasn't hard for him to figure out that it was a distraction. Fox would never deliberately make her entrance more obvious unless she was trying to get people's attention. That did, however, tell him that she was already inside the building and on a higher floor...meaning she would probably be hurrying down the stairs to try to catch him while he was distracted by the elevator. "Can't have that."

His own childish side prevented him from just letting her plan fall flat and leaving it at that, so instead of standing still, he moved over to stand next to the door into the stairwell, leaning against the wall so that she wouldn't be able to see him unless she turned around after coming down the stairs. Not exactly foolproof, but he didn't have anything to lose but seeing her reaction if she noticed him too quickly.

Fox opened the door slowly and moved forward just a bit, looking over to where the elevators were to try and find David. When she didn't see him there, she started looking around herself and around the doorway, and that was when she spotted him leaning against the wall. She stepped forward and laughed, holding her arms out to him.

"I knew I should have taken the elevator down. You know me too well."

He smiled as he moved away from the wall to wrap his arms around her, pulling her close and giving her a quick kiss. "You might have managed to surprise me if you had. But I'm sure you'll come up with something next time."
