Jr. had worn his cowboy hat to the warehouse, but had quickly dropped it in a corner to dry. His black and red longcoat, though also wet, was still resting comfortably over his shoulders, covering his guns. With his arms crossed to cover the red 666 on his right palm, he looked for all the world like an ordinary kid...except for the fact that he was holding his weight in a way that even a passing glance would identify as the stance of an experienced fighter and the knowing expression on his face. He already knew what he was doing, he was here to teach, not learn, and it showed.

Edward was just wandering around, keeping an eye on things. Like his brother Alphonse, he also sported a large bruise on his cheek, if only the other side of his face. One might wonder what the brothers had been doing the past few days.

"You doing alright?"

He noted that, but didn't comment. He and Zuko would have both been sporting far worse injuries than a bruise from a friendly match if he hadn't known healing techniques.

When the somewhat taller other boy approached, he nodded. "Rain doesn't really bother me unless I get sick."

Ed was silently glad that he didn't have to do any training. The dampness was wrecking havoc on his joints, and if he didn't have to put anyone in his place, he could live with that. That and the thunder and lightning was making him nervous, even though he was inside. "That's good. And it's good that it's raining, too. Not like all of the fights will happen in good weather."

Zuko slid into the warehouse silently, save for the mandatory grumbling he had concerning the rain. He loathed rain. It made firebending extraordinarily difficult and made lightning twice as effective... which was something Zuko never supported.

He moved to a relatively isolated corner and sat, to await whoever wanted to learn from him. He wasn't expecting much, honestly. He was offering to help because he felt like it would be the best avenue towards helping the other people in Adstringendum remain safe.

The last thing Zuko wanted was a war.

ooc: I will be late on these replies, just so you know~! I have a friend over and I'll most likely get to the majority of responses later this evening. Have at it~! ♥

Hinata was not here to learn per se. She was a more than capable fighter herself, but she had offered to help in some way. She wasn't sure just how she could help. She had never taught anyone before, and many of those people didn't use chakra or anything like that, all things that the Hyuuga style of fighting favored.

She looked around for familiar faces, and spotted one. She came closer timidly, her cheeks reddening a bit as she spoke up.

"A-ano ... Zuko-san ?"

Zuko glanced over and smiled slightly.

"Hinata. Hey."

He looked her up and down, confused as to why a ninja of a reputable country (or, at least, that was the impression Zuko had received while talking to Sasuke) needed assistance in learning how to defend herself.

"What's up?"

"I-I came to see if I could help ... but I've never really taught anyone myself."

She looked at Zuko, still a little embarrassed.

"Would you mind if I ... followed you a little as you do it ?"

Once Toph reached the warehouse, she made sure to bring in several large boulders from the outside and placed them where she would be doing her teaching. She could use the metal from the surrounding warehouse, but using too much of it could cause the rain to make its way inside, so she'd have to minimize the amount of metalbending she would be doing.

Her area didn't take long to set up and once it was ready, she began to break some of the larger boulders into smaller rocks, for easier use during training. Sure, these people couldn't earthbend like she could, but there was no reason why they couldn't have an earthbender's mentality when fighting, right?

Toph would give these people the training of their life.

"Okay," Akira yawned, walking up to her area, "So what are you teachin', huh? Let's see what you've got over here. Can't say I'm too excited about a kid tryin' to teach me about somethin' like fighting."

Granted, Akira was only about 16, himself. He hardly had the right to call anyone a "kid". Still, he did like to psychologically test people he didn't know very well. Perhaps the implication of inexperience would set her off just a bit.

"You'll be eating those words later. If I can teach the Avatar earthbending, I think I can teach people here how to fight no problem," Toph said with an arrogant smirk. People doubted her abilities all the time. Proving them wrong was something that she enjoyed doing.

"And you've got the best earthbender in the world and the Earth Rumble champion teaching you. I know how to fight."

"Well, those terms mean as much to me as Quantum Physics, I have no idea of their application or meaning, so you're gonna' have to educate me," he said, cracking his neck and joints as he stretched, "You can start at any time. Don't bother with explanation, I learn best by doin'."

For once, Al wasn't the least-remarkable-looking of the teachers assembled, considering who the others were, but he still didn't look like much. Just some normal teenager in a shapeless hoodie, still ruffling the raindrops out of his long hair.

The only thing of note, really, was the bruise on the right side of his jaw. Looks like someone had had an early start.

However, he'd have a bright smile for nearly anyone that walked up to him. Until then, he'd watch the storm warily, as if he were wondering if anyone would show up through the downpour.

Hinata remembered the boy. Al had been the first one to talk about self-defence, and he had mentioned he knew her. Hinata came closer shyly and bowed her head in greeting.

"Al-kun ?"

"Miss Hinata!" Al's face lit up when he spotted her, before he realized that he'd smiled too quickly, and bowed back before lifting a hand to wave her a little greeting. "Did you come to do some training, too? Teaching or sparring?"

"I d-don't really know ... I'll help if I can, but as I said, my technique requires precise chakra control, I can't teach it to just anyone, just basic moves, so I'm not sure it's useful ..."

She hesitated, then smiled awkwardly.

"Maybe I could show you ?"

Lee verdant_lotus July 6 2010, 02:05:27 UTC
Lee was one of the earlier ones to arrive. It was an interesting idea, teaching self-defense. The majority of Lee's moves weren't suitable for a beginner, but he was certain that he could at least teach the basics. It'd take time and dedication, but he was certain that some of the students would have both. He might have harbored a hope that there'd be someone who he could fulfill the same role that Gai-sensei filled for him- and had been considering where he could possibly get more green jumpsuits.

Unaccustomed to standing still, Lee had concluded that the best way to shake off the lingering cold from the rain was training. Currently, he was upside down, muttering numbers underneath his breath, with his weight balanced on his thumbs as he did pushups.

"Wow," Akira clapped slowly, "those are impressive push-ups, you're doin'. Even more impressive than those giant caterpillars on top of your eyes."

Not that Akira had any room to talk, given his own rather bushy, thick eyebrows. He approached Rock and cracked his joints a bit.

"Guess I'll get a bit from you, next. What can you teach me?"

Long accustomed to comments on his eyebrows, Lee didn't react to it outside of smiling. His first student of the day, then. The Chuunin easily flipped to his feet and dusted off his gloved hands. "How much do you know about taijutsu?" Lee asked.

"About as much I know about the moon," he sighed, "I'm more accustomed to takin' damage, then givin' it."
