Summary: After several delays, Team Gai finally takes a trip out to explore the wastelands of Adstringendum.

She blinked open her eyes when Neji woke her up and refrained from commenting on the early hour. Sure, she'd rather be sleeping longer, but they were exploring together, and she should really only be surprised that it hadn't been Sensei and Lee who had woken her up.

Tenten stretched and checked on her hair before getting out of the sleeping back and starting right away on breakfast. It was simple, trail stuff, designed to be highly nutritious and tasty enough. And also chosen to not kill her and Neji with too much spice. "Good morning," she greeted the others as she worked, finishing quickly and serving it out four ways.

Then she was settling down on a handy patch of ground, eating, looking around their surroundings. "So what direction are we headed in?"

Gai had finished his stretching moments before Tenten had finished dividing breakfast. He sat down crosslegged and began to eat his own share. " I do not know, I shall leave that for you to decide, my students!" Gai had enjoyed the adventure of the previous day to it's fullest. He had never seen such creatures before!

Lee took the proffered plate with a grateful smile toward Tenten. Sleeping on the ground felt odd, after five months in a bed, but it was good, too. It reminded him of home, and of the missions that they'd spent so many years on together. It was invigorating, and he felt a familiar excitement burning in his blood at the opportunity of a real battle. They hadn't encountered any real fights yet in the Wastelands- likely because their group was as large as it was- but he was hopeful that they'd run across some of the creatures others had told him about.

It'd been too long since he'd gotten a real workout. Training was good, but nothing quite matched up to a real fight. "Maybe we should head east?" Lee offered.

Neji chewed over the considerations, swallowing with a grateful nod toward Tenten. He didn't have a preference on direction- so long as it wasn't the one they came from. Lee and Gai's enthusiasm was natural, but he didn't particularly care for a conflict so early in the morning. They could avoid the sandworm buried underground to the north then, and moving south, they'd be going in the direction of the city- not likely to be terribly interesting.

"East is fine." Neji agreed, glancing at Gai and Tenten for input, and finished the food he had. Like Lee, he was afflicted with a similar nostalgia- the food too similar to what they'd usually eat out on missions outside Konoha.

"Unless there are objections...?"
