Summary: After several delays, Team Gai finally takes a trip out to explore the wastelands of Adstringendum.
Having taken last watch over their small campsite, Neji was the first to observe the pale rays of dawn as they peaked over the distant horizon.
Chosen due to the underground spring, it was only natural that a watch was set in place when their surroundings consisted of mostly wild (and the occasionally mutated) beasts. But aside from a small scurry of carnivorous rabbits (quickly settled by throwing leftover carcasses to them), the only other threat had lain in the underground burrow of an impressive sandworm that tunneled into his vision a solid two hours ago.
Although he had been tempted to rouse his teammates then, Neji chose to wait. It had stopped just outside the range of threat the Jounin had mentally mapped out, and gradually curled in on itself to sleep. Everything remained as it was through a relatively peaceful evening- a welcome break in comparison to the chaos of the previous day.
Neji breathed, dragging himself out of his meditative pose and stood, stretching briefly before he moved to wake the other members of his team.
