Watanuki saw the girl first, then saw the blade of the katana glint in the sunlight.

She looks like a character out of a battle manga.

He raised an eyebrow as he slowly approached, wondering if it was normal for her to carry around the sword and wear heels like that.

"Uhh, miss..." He watched her slice at the air, and stayed out of the reach of the katana.

If only she could read his mind. Ai's response would of been something like, "Yeah? Good, looks like I fit in with all the other manga rejects around here."

But she couldn't.

Hearing the voice was enough to make her drop the katana to her waist and to let it hang loosely in her hand as she responded. "What's up?"

He stepped closer, trying not to gesture nervously while he spoke, but failing.

"I was just wondering why you were practicing by yourself, since isn't swordsmanship usually something that someone more experienced helps you with? Not that I'm saying that you're inexperienced, or anything, it's just that it looked... unnatural for you to be holding the katana, that's all." He blushed while he tripped over his words, trying not to seem completely ignorant.

"'Cuz if I told anyone what I was doing, they'd tell me to put the katana down and go back to painting my nails, probably." Either because they couldn't believe in her interest to learn or just the idea of her holding one seemed unbelievable. But it was pink. Anyone who had seen her on the PCD had quickly learned it was favorite color as she attempted to pull together an outfit to wear on a daily basis that looked like rainbow throw-up in all different shades of pink.

"I'm guessing you have no interest in helping as well." Placing her free hand on the back of her head, she blinked while watching his movements.

And one of those people she would think was "mega boring" was around - even though he was apparently not considered so in her eyes.

But that's beside the point.

The fact that she was wielding a sword made Iori snort, trying to hold back a snigger while raising an eyebrow.

There was no way she could considered Iori those two words. The way he dressed alone and the color of his hair was amusing in itself. Hell, not that she would make fun of him. She wasn't exactly the most modest dresser either.

Turning around at the snort, she gave him the eye. "What's so funny, Iori?"

"You with a sword, that's what." He uncrossed his arms, the barest traces of a smirk on his lips as he stepped forward. He's faced Orochi, Kyo, and a bunch of other annoying and scary things, one woman isn't going to do it for him, unfortunately.

"Everyone has to start somewhere, don't they? If I don't learn, I can never improve or protect myself." Oh, she knew that the idea of her being intimidating wasn't happening with him from the get go. Usually she didn't get along with his type but as luck would have it the kogal felt a bond.
