Watanuki saw the girl first, then saw the blade of the katana glint in the sunlight.

She looks like a character out of a battle manga.

He raised an eyebrow as he slowly approached, wondering if it was normal for her to carry around the sword and wear heels like that.

"Uhh, miss..." He watched her slice at the air, and stayed out of the reach of the katana.

If only she could read his mind. Ai's response would of been something like, "Yeah? Good, looks like I fit in with all the other manga rejects around here."

But she couldn't.

Hearing the voice was enough to make her drop the katana to her waist and to let it hang loosely in her hand as she responded. "What's up?"

He stepped closer, trying not to gesture nervously while he spoke, but failing.

"I was just wondering why you were practicing by yourself, since isn't swordsmanship usually something that someone more experienced helps you with? Not that I'm saying that you're inexperienced, or anything, it's just that it looked... unnatural for you to be holding the katana, that's all." He blushed while he tripped over his words, trying not to seem completely ignorant.

"'Cuz if I told anyone what I was doing, they'd tell me to put the katana down and go back to painting my nails, probably." Either because they couldn't believe in her interest to learn or just the idea of her holding one seemed unbelievable. But it was pink. Anyone who had seen her on the PCD had quickly learned it was favorite color as she attempted to pull together an outfit to wear on a daily basis that looked like rainbow throw-up in all different shades of pink.

"I'm guessing you have no interest in helping as well." Placing her free hand on the back of her head, she blinked while watching his movements.

"That's really rude of them." He didn't know her that well, but didn't think that she would be the type that would want to wield a blade. She looked more like she should be doing homework, or chasing after boys, rather than fighting in any fashion.

"It's not that I have no interest in helping you, miss. It's just that I know nothing about sword-fighting." He laughed nervously as he scratched the top of his head.

"Oh, pardon my manners. My name is Watanuki Kimihiro. It's nice to meet you..." He bowed deep, in an attempt to make up for the belated introduction.

"I believe I've spoken to you a few times before on the PCD..." She was pretty certain, but with all the cigarettes and booze lately sometimes made her not trust her brain.

Deeming the man rather harmless as he bowed, she offered up a handshake instead. "Ai Nakagawa, right back 'atcha."

"Have we spoken before? I apologize for not remembering." He didn't drink or smoke, but sometimes things were a little fuzzier than he would like to admit.

He stared at her hand for a moment as he straightened, then gently grasped it, and carefully shook. He wasn't trying to act as if she was a fragile thing, it just kind of ended up that way. Smiling awkwardly, he stood there and held her hand, probably just for a moment longer than necessary, but not really knowing better.

"I hope I'm right..." She should remember a dorky looking guy like him. There weren't many in Adstringendum. Of course when she thought dork, she didn't mean it in a bad way. It was an easy classification of remembrance and she was certain people did the same for her. Like, "Oh, look at that slutty girl!"

Giggling at the touch of his hand against hers, she could sense he was a little nervous perhaps? Tilting her head with a smile, she spoke lightly. "No need to be shy around me."

"You probably are." He knew he was dorky-looking, and never took it to heart when people said so, especially since he was guilty of doing the same thing himself. However, he didn't think that she looked slutty, she just needed a little more clothing, especially considering the chill of the air.

Blushing slightly, he slowly pulled back, embarrassed that she noticed his anxiousness. He chuckled low in his throat, his face coloring a deeper red, croaking as he spoke. "Ah, I don't mean to be shy, Nakagawa-san. Sorry about that."
