A long time is right. For Sora, it'd been - technically - well over a year, even if he was asleep for most of that time. But for Riku? Well... it'd only been a week since he'd seen Sora, a few months since he'd seen this Sora, the Sora that knew about what he'd done all that time ago, the entire deal with Ansem...

The Sora he was now about to reunite with. Again.

In all honesty, Riku was more nervous and anxious about meeting the boy now than he had been when he'd been in Ansem's form, rejecting the fact that he was still Riku. Because then... well... Sora'd at least been able to see through the darkness coating his heart, but now? Well, he'd be able to see Riku for who he was right away... and he knew it'd be painfully obvious that Riku couldn't see back. Sure, he'd donned a blindfold again for the walk over, and sure... he had a bit of his sight back, just enough so that anything five inches away from his face or closer had just a bit of shape to it, a hint of color, but that was hardly considered sight ( ... )

Sora wouldn't have the slightest as to why his friend might have been nervous... To Sora; Riku was Riku. He wouldn't have looked for him for so long, only to discard him for being a little different. Swimming in darkness or not; Sora was pretty good at hauling people out of it. Riku was no exception ( ... )

Good thing he'd never know then, right? Either way, when Sora jumped up and... er... fell off the couch, Riku's head was snapping up, green eyes narrowed from beneath the blindfold. He could almost sense the boy. It was like a faint itch in his mind, something that gave him Sora's general location. It was nothing like the darkness that coated Roxas, gave Riku an outline of the boy to go on. But it was more than nothing. More than he'd had when Sora was younger.

Maybe it was the boy's understanding of Darkness that allowed it to cling to him more now, or maybe, just maybe it was Roxas' Darkness inside of the boy that allowed Riku to sense him. He was so used to the blond that he could pick up the faint echo, buried as it was beneath Sora's light ( ... )

If Roxas had anything to do with Sora's darkness peeking through, he had no idea about it. He hadn't had the chance to meet Roxas either back home, nor here. The boy was avoiding him! Not that Sora knew that. He'd.. hopefully meet him someday. Knowing Sora, he'd think it way too cool to have a 'twin'. ...Of sorts.

Riku really was soggy, he realized, once arms were weaseled around him. On an offhanded note, he cursed inwardly. Of course Riku would be taller. Just figured. Stupid genes. Sora's parents had been shorter than Riku's so whatever ( ... )
