"It's high time someone here found an umbrella shop, isn't it?" Break observes, from where he's standing under an awning. He peers out from under it, waiting for the worst of the showers to let up.

Orihime nearly jumped a foot at the sound of another voice cutting through the white noise of the rain. For a moment, she thought it had come from her PCD, but upon further inspection, she found the man hiding under the awning.

"Is there one here? I haven't seen any so far..."

Which is sort of what he was going for. Break can be evil like that. But he smiles, cheerful as can be.

"And if I had, I certainly wouldn't be hiding under here."

Cautiously, she took a step closer, trying to get a better look.

"Well, that's true..."

Hakuba's city-wide quest for any decent winter clothing that the Animus had possibly overlooked had taken him into an area of the city he had not had occasion to explore before.

The sight of a young woman picking her way through the rubble was unusual, though not entirely unexpected, and he came up behind her, ready to offer her his jacket, since there was no way the outfit she was wearing was very warm.

"Excuse me, miss."

A small cry of surprise escaped Orihime at the sound of another voice, especially since it seemed to have come from behind her. Turning around, she exhaled deeply in realization that yep, just another person. She smiled sheepishly and brushed some wet hair out of her face, glad her cheeks were already flushed from the cold.

"O-oh, I'm sorry... I didn't hear you there!"

"My apologies, I did not mean to startle you."

A slight smile at the girl, eyes focused on her face rather than anywhere else. His voice has a noticeable British accent.

"Are you all right?"

"Oh, it's okay!"

She chuckled a little to herself, embarrassed that she'd been spooked so easily.

"I'm just going to Unohana-san's clinic to pick something up."

Ulquiorra had grown used to the fact that it rained here and the cold didn't particularly bother the Espada, though water was pooling in the curve of his horn and causing his usually pristine clothes to cling to his body, revealing how thin he was, even in his sealed form. It did nothing to obscure his enhanced vision or ability to recognize reiatsu, however, and he easily recognized Orihime through the rain. He was relieved and still slightly confused to see her, though he had recovered enough from the event to hide his emotions behind his usual stoic mask as he walked up to her from behind. For once, he wasn't silent as he walked, water splashing slightly under his feet. "You've recovered from the exhaustion."

Orihime would have recognized his voice even had he taken the time to conceal his presence, but she hesitated slightly before turning to face him. Rangiku-san's words about his worry for her flitted through her mind, and looking at him, just as drenched as her, she had to admit that he would not have done this before.

"M-M-hmm..."

FFF now I want them to kiss in the rain. xD

He tilted his head slightly at seeing how thoroughly drenched she was and the worry for her well being that returned briefly made him think about his conversation with that Shinigami woman. He didn't pay any attention to the water that dripped off his mask and past his eye. "What are you doing?"

She might once have declined to give him that information, even if it was something so small. She brushed a wet strand of hair away from her face, looking him over with surprise as she realized just how thin he really was, even in his unreleased form. Surely that couldn't be healthy, even if he was meant to be her enemy...?

"I'm going to Unohana-san's clinic."
