L was here. And it was probably not going to do him any good: he had spoken to the detective several times over the course of the week, and there had been little sense to be had from him. And he had a bodyguard in the form of an overly protective and far too talkative young man.

Still, he had to try. L's defenses were down, his mind no longer a thing worth respecting: he might blurt out his name at any time, though Light couldn't actually ask him for it. L might remember, after all.

He walked quietly into the room, noting that Kenta seemed to be soundly asleep. L, on the other hand, was not. Light paused, taking in the sight of him, lip curling for a brief moment. Seeing him like this ought to be satisfying, but while it was funny, it was also irritating.

"How the mighty have fallen, hm, Ryuuzaki?" he said, his tone quiet as he walked up to the man's bed.

Having been trying to keep up her strength by walking the halls of the clinic, Rangiku had heard the noises coming from the room. Of course curiosity had always gotten the best of her. She went to look in, pausing when she saw the three figures. The closest of course was the young man standing near the doorway, speaking. 'Ryuuzaki ne?' she thought to herself before looking tot he man sprawled on the bed. oh! he looks like the one who had messaged her that one time. She hadn't gotten his name. The one sleeping didn't interest her too much, other than the thought crossing her mind of drawing on their face, but she actually thought better of it this time.

"ano... is everything alright in here?" She kept tot he doorway in case she needed to make a quick escape in case she got yelled at for entering. Ran's eyes glanced between the two.

He turned around, surprised and a little annoyed to have company, but his expression was nothing but friendly as he took in the sight of the newcomer. Judging by the way she dressed, she wouldn't mind the occasional compliment directed at her looks. In the current setting - with himself as L's concerned friend - it was hardly appropriate, so he dismissed the idea. Still, he filed it away for future consideration: if she was clinic staff, she might be useful.

"I'm afraid my friend hasn't been treated kindly by the current event," he said, giving her a small smile. "Unohana-san thought it best to keep him here for the time being."

"The event? yeah... I've been infected too... I'm from the same world as Unohana-Taichou." she smiled to him. "Your friend sent me a message once. He seemed pretty nice. You said his name was Ryuuzaki?"
