Carmen showed up, elegant in her typical red, with no doubt showing on her face. She was fairly certain Saul would not show up, and without her closest ally, this was far more of a risk. Armor was not her style. She knew nothing of fighting. Running was her defense, running and slipping away.

With outward calm, she nodded to Madara. "The rest of my men should be arriving shortly. We will aid you in getting to the wall, and in getting in, and shall remain outside. So long as it is possible, we will also keep the entry point clear for you to depart the city safely." If such a thing was possible. She didn't think Madara was going to succeed at much in this. After all, the scientists had to be ready for the attempt. He'd spoken of it on the network.

Madara didn't expect Carmen to fight during this mission. She did not have a fighter's body nor did she seem like a person who could defeat a large amount of enemies with only her own skills. Yes, she was intelligent and Madara respected her to an extent, but she was no ninja. Her only use was to keep the attention away from him at the mission began.

"Alright. My men should be on their way was well. And as soon as Deidara arrives, we'll be able to start. If anyone is late, I've already briefed them on what is to be expected of them."

Carmen nodded in acknowledgment. She knew which one was Deidara - he was the loud blond. It would be easy to watch for him. Though she did hope that some of her men arrived shortly. It would not do to be completely alone with this group, nor was she entirely safe from the guards if her men did not show.

"Excellent. I have spoken to mine as well, and we are prepared. Should I hold any message for those that may straggle of yours?" This also would give her a chance to see the Akatsuki in motion, observe their dynamic. She knew they didn't seem to get along on the network, but that could be a facade.

"No messages are needed. They know everything that they need to know at this point. The only thing you and your group need to do is cover us as we enter the city."

Carmen would be getting a front row seat to what the Akatsuki was capable of tonight. She was in for quite the show if everything went according to plan.

Sasori hated waiting or making people wait so me made sure that he was at the designated meeting point at the right time. From what he had gathered, there wouldn't be too much trouble with the whole thing. He wasn't really expecting much out of this. Still, it was a chance to do something. He wasn't used to being so idle.

"Deidara should be here soon." He was starting to regret letting the brat come here on his own. He'd put up with enough crap these past few weeks and if Deidara was late...

"Will you stop thinking I'll always be late, un?" Deidara wasn't far behind Sasori at getting to the meeting point. He had simply decided to walk instead of fly. Conserving clay. He had wasted enough of it during that week where inanimate objects came to life.

A shame they didn't blow up Madara, really.

"I've spent enough time with you to know when to be at a meeting point." Which was partially true. Sometimes he was late just to piss off his other partner. Madara deserved it, anyway.

Madara still remembers that incident, Deidara. He wasn't very happy with all the holes in the walls the clay had created.

"Now that you're here Deidara, we can begin. Hidan already knows what he's to do when he arrives here," Madara said, turning toward the two Akatsuki members. "Now, if you would, set up your bombs so that we can get into the city."

Good. Because you're next after Orochimaru, Madara.

"Yeah, yeah." With an inaudible sigh, Deidara reached into his pouch to let his hand-mouth take a bite out of the clay there. After pulling his hand out seconds later, a miniature clay bird was spit out into the palm of his hand.

A grin tugged at his lips as he tossed it to the ground, where it 'popped' and, in a poof of smoke, enlarged to its full size. The blond hopped onto the giant bird before it took off.

"Sasori-danna! Watch my art closely. You'll see it's much more useful than yours, un!"
