At first, Kenta didn't really register the sound the the knocking. While none of the men living here were rude or at all unrespecting of each other's space, it wasn't really custom among them to knock before entering. Kenta was hardly ever in his room anyway, as was Haseo (concerned as he was about "raising his levels" as he had put it) and if the door to L's room was locked then, well, it was locked.

But L had gone out, Haseo as well, and Kenta had been expecting Aya, and so he'd been staring out his bedroom window idly - chin in hand - letting the sun beat down on his face and neck, and so the pale of her hair reflecting the sun down below caught his eye, and he leaned half out the window to wave down to her and catch her attention. "Heeeeeeyyy!!" He smile-shouted. "You don't have to stand on ceremony here, the door's more for show than anything else." He gestured vaguely toward the other side of the house. "After all, there's no wall over that way."

At his greeting, she followed the sound of his voice to his window and managed a half-smile at him, "I wasn't sure if it would be considered rude if I just went in," she explained, shuffling with the bag on her shoulder. She took another look at the door before finally pushing it open.

Well, he said just walk on in...

Kenta left his room and made his way over to the tree, sliding easily from limb to limb and down to the ground, making his way toward her. "Hi." He said, smiling. "The other guys are out right now. But we can get you settled just fine. Did you want to set your stuff up in your room now?"

She watched him as he climbed down, a bemused little smile on her lips. At being asked whether or not she wanted to set her stuff up in her room, she held out her bag.

"I suppose so it would be a good idea. I am in dire need of a place to sit, and a place to sleep."

Spike strolled up to the door of Kenta's place, carrying a small duffel bag over his shoulder. He was getting tired of staying in the tiny place he'd found shortly after his arrival, and moving in with Kenta seemed to be like a good idea. He was a pretty nice guy after all.

He knocked on the door briefly, plucking the cigarette from his lips and holding it between his fingers as he waited.

Can Aya come to greet you, too? :) 1_resonance August 29 2009, 06:11:39 UTC
Aya had been sitting at her corner window with her elbows propped up on the sill -- she was enjoying the afternoon sun pouring through, and the view of... whatever Adstringendum was -- when she noticed Spike stroll up. At first, she was content to not say anything and just watched him thoughtfully. His cigarette looked tempting. But, when she heard him knock on the door, she poked her head out and cleared her throat to get his attention.

"Assuming you're one of the new boarders, I was told that that door is just for show, as the wall around the corner is missing."

But of course! :3 realfolkinblue August 29 2009, 07:35:41 UTC
Spike looked up and noticed the woman calling down to him. "Is that so?" he replied, a smile playing on his lips. "I remember Kenta saying something like that," he said. He placed his cigarette back in his mouth and pocketed his hands, strolling around to the other side of the house. He figured he'd go inside to continue the conversation with this woman rather than shout to her.

Aya nodded, "Yes. You have to climb the tree to get to the top floor. It's not hard."

She watched placidly as he shoved his hands into his pocket and began around the side of the house. As soon as he disappeared from view, she shut her window and made her way out of her room, walking toward where the wall should have been to peer down at him.

"Your room is on this floor, I believe."

Soujiro stood in front of Kenta's house.
"Looks nicer than I anticipated."
He smiled and knocked on the door.

For once, Kenta was actually on the first floor when the typical knock came, fetching some water from the well. He'd also been inspecting the gas stove in the kitchen (they had no gas, obviously, but could always build a fire underneath the grill) and scouting around to see where the best place to attempt to build a brickwork oven would be.

The sudden influx of people - by his own design of course - had lead him to start thinking about fixing the place up better. Though he would have never admitted it to his dad, he had briefly entertained the idea of the family business one term in college by taking an engineering class, and knew some of the basics of constructing (and what he didn't know, he was sure L would) and he just generally liked the idea of making the place a bit more of a home, a bit less of a short term solution.

He went to the door and answered it. "Seta-san?"

"Good day, Yano-san." He took a bow and smiled.

Kenta bowed back, sliently taking in Seta's old fashioned garb and idly (though choosing not to really think on it too deeply for many reasons) deciding that he must have come from the past. He stepped back to let the other man in.

"The bedrooms are all on the second floor, you have to climb the tree to get there. Anything on the left side of the hallway is still free for you to choose."
