Summary: Mello feels like paying his injured "brother" a visit.

During the event, Lelouch had been truly caring and attached to his brother-- always worried about him, always making sure that his brother would be fine. If the echo of those memories were still haunting Mello's mind, there was no way that they wouldn't be doing the same to Lelouch's. The thought made Mello smirk mentally, although his expression didn't display that emotion for once ( ... )

It was clear that, in most cases, whatever emotion people had experienced during the past event had been fake and unrelated to their real feelings. Still, Lelouch and Suzaku's relationship had always looked like some sort of deep friendship-- Mello'd daresay that it was love, even. The event had only made them more open about it, that was all.

Whatever it was, Mello doubted that Suzaku's sudden craziness was related to their relationship during the event. And the fact that Suzaku hadn't bothered to hide his actions suggested that Lelouch wasn't exactly a saint. Whatever Lelouch had done to him, it had to be something big.

Mello closed the door behind him, back pressed against it, and stared at nowhere with ice-cold eyes. What was causing him mental distress wasn't the sort of familiar affection he was magically harbouring for a stranger; it was the fact that the Animus had played with his mind as if he were a mere puppet with no will. Being toyed with was something Mello couldn't stand-- he, who had always striven to have control over his own life...

The sound of that voice felt like a knife, sinking directly into Mello's chest. Near was supposed to spend all the time in his room, why the hell was he outside now? Such a great timing, as always.

"So?" he replied with defensive annoyance, aware of what Near was implying with that question: Mello had become emotionally attacked to Lelouch after the event. His tone served as a warning for Near not to make any inconvenient remark. Not like that had ever stopped the brat, though.

Mello didn't move from the door, fearing what he might do if he did. His hands were itching to do something, anything.
