Characters: Maes Hughes (brig_gen_maes) and Elysia Hughes (daddys_apple) When: Friday Where: All over town? Rating: G Summary: Maes and Elysia play the day away
Elysia had sat up and was rubbing her eyes on the bed, still under the blanket in her night clothes. She looked up when she saw the door move and smiled brightly at her father, remembering to stay quiet for Nina's sake. She waved.
Maes waved back happily. He picked out an outfit for her and set it on the chair. She was able to dress herself, but he knew that picking clothes out could be difficult.
"When you're ready," he whispered, "get dressed and come have breakfast. Then we'll head out." Beaming, he slipped out the door and closed it just as silently as he'd opened it. He glanced at his preparations and nodded, content.
She nodded again, beaming at him, and then quickly got dressed in what he had put out. Making sure to stay quiet so she wouldn't disturb Nina, she closed to door almost silently, then went running down to the kitchen.
"Daddy!" she squealed happily, jumping at him for a hug.
Maes grinned from ear to ear as she ran to him, scooping her up for a nice long hug. "Good morning, Elysia! Your smile makes even the gloomiest of mornings bright." He beamed at her and released her, standing up.
Reaching over, he grabbed the soccer ball and held it out to her. "Would you like to be Daddy's big helper and carry this as we head out for a good spot to play?" The bag of food and other things went over his shoulder, and he was ready to head out for a big day of fun in the city.
