Suzaku barely put the last decorative centerpieces on the table before he rushed back into the back room to check on the food once more. Everyone had helped out so much and he had let most of them go to enjoy themselves either in the bar or outside in the fresh snow, hoping to be able to set up the last things mostly on his own. A few frantic minutes later, he came back out once more dressed in casual winter clothes to replace his rather dirty kitchen attire and then sighed.

"Alright. I'll be right back with our guest of honor," he said before rushing past everyone to fetch Lelouch who was apparently taking his time getting to the place. He turned on his heel as he passed Ginia and gave her a smile.

"Thanks so much once again," he said to her. "And to everyone.." he added in a breathless addition before running out the door. He had been running around all day and so it made sense that he would be on end.

Ginia returned the smile and gave a polite bow to him, not wanting to delay him any further from getting Lelouch.

Suzaku ran into the apartment after a quick observation outside. Since Lelouch was not outside near the apartment, he had to be inside. He gave a grin as he saw the other, rosy-cheeked from his run all the way from Ginia's bar.

"Lelouch!" he called out. "Think fast!"

He then hurled a large slightly-melted snowball at Lelouch's then-turned head and then started running back out.

To say the least, Jotaro was not in a festive mood. He had a lot on his mind, most of it unpleasant; at large his week had been hell and was not picking up, and he was not coming in with any pretense at being cheerful or even particularly social.

But he came in anyway, for Ginia's sake, and anyway it was warmer at the bar than back in his room. He lingered at the doorway briefly, shaking the snow from his hat and jacket, looking around with the surprising realization that it was actually his first time at the bar. And Ginia had done a hell of a job at refitting the place, with music and even food and everything, it was enough to lift his spirits just a little. - if nothing went wrong (and things always went wrong) they could all actually have a chance to let their hair down for a bit. Before the next bit thing ( ... )

Oliver slid into the bar, cheeks and nose red from the cold, breathless in a way that told those in the know that he'd pushed too hard and was trying to hide it. He was being stubborn, too, and refusing to pull out his inhaler unless he absolutely had to, since replacing it when it was gone was a real concern.

He leaned against the door for a second, rubbing his hands together. He'd either forgotten mittens or didn't have any, and his hands were numb. Still, he probably could have managed on the piano, anyway. He spied JoJo, and pressing a hand to his chest, forcing himself to breath as evenly as possible, he made his way towards the man.

At least his ears weren't those fleshy little things, he decided. His were insulated all by themselves...everyone else's must be as miserable as his nose was!

"Hey, kid." Jotaro moved a little, making room for Ollie by the bar and moving the half-full mug of cider so that the boy could take it over if he wanted. He studied him briefly, with a hint of a critical frown - he could see that Oliver wasn't breathing exactly right, but decided not to comment on it immediately, but show faith, hoping he'd straighten it out himself. Still, the look let Ollie know he was watching him - or watching out for him, whichever way the younger man decided to take it.

"Siddown, party's just started."

Ginia returned the smile and nodded her head at him, blinking in surprise when something was handed to her. She gently placed it on one of the shelves below the counter, too busy with her current customers to open it.

It was awhile later before Ginia finally had a quiet moment and a chance to catch her breath. She took the package and carefully opened it, smiling at the Maneki Neko. It was a very touching gift and she gently set it on the counter behind her before walking over to the table Jotaro was seated at.

/Thank you for the gift. It's very thoughtful of you,/ she wrote, handing him the note.

Carmen slipped into the bar, not too early, and not late. She liked being the center of attention when she was already gone; having everyone watch her was not conducive to her favorite occupation. The snow did make it a little hard to see... she saw a boy wearing goggles. There was a good idea. She made a mental note to look for goggles later ( ... )

There was something about Carmen Ginia couldn't quite place. Was she someone who had been here earlier and they had met before? No, that didn't seem likely as Carmen hadn't known about her. It must have been something else, but the bartender couldn't quite place it. However, it didn't matter much as everyone was invited to the celebration no matter who they were.

She smiled and gave a polite bow of her head, writing out a message on the notepad in front of her.

/Mingle around as you wish, help yourself to the food and drinks. There'll be a snowball fight outside in addition to some other snow-related activities, but it's a very relaxed party in general. I simply want people to enjoy themselves./

Carmen looked at the piece of paper, a little surprised, and then nodded. "Thank you, I will. I may wander outside and watch the snowball fight; confrontation like that isn't much my thing, though."

She glanced around. "I shall attempt to mingle. I don't see any here that I've met, yet." It couldn't hurt, though. And perhaps she would learn more. And then maybe she could consider the look Ginia had given her. It had almost been recognition, perhaps, but not quite there.

Unohana hurried through the cold. She was nto planning on staying long, but she wanted to see Ginia-san's bar, and maybe wish Lelouch-san a happy birthday before she went back to the Clinic to watch over Near-san's body and finish making presents for Christmas.

She walked into the bar and headed staright for the counter.

"Hello, Ginia-san. Dreadful weather we've been having lately, isn't it ?"

Ginia knew how busy Ms. Unohana was, especially in light of Near's death, and hadn't expected her to come by, but when the healer and mother-figure of the city entered the bar, Ginia was a bit honored and gave a very polite bow as a greeting.

/Ms. Unohana, good evening. I'm glad you could make it here./ She paused in her writing and looking out of the window. The snow was beginning to fall a bit harder and faster. /And yes, I agree. It certainly looks like it's picking up./

"I wanted to wish Lelouch-san a happy birthday, and to see how you had arranged the place. It looks lovely."

She patted Ginia-san's hand softly.

"I won't keep you from your guests. You know where to find me if you need anything."

((ooc: other thread))

Suzaku grinned as Lelouch followed him in, pulling the string of a party popper. It gave a loud 'pop' and streamers flew out, announcing Lelouch's arrival and the start of his birthday party.

"Happy Birthday, Lelouch!" he laughed, unable to contain himself. Lelouch looked like an irritated wet cat and he still had some snow stuck in his hair.

"Do I ever do what I'm supposed to do?" Suzaku asked. He drew Lelouch into a friendly hug and gave him a hearty pat on the back like all close male friends did.

"I had to do something special for you today, you know. Everyone's been so nice to make this happen too so it's not just me. Happy nineteenth, Lelouch..."
