Ginia stood behind the counter polishing a cup, her attention turned to the falling snow visible outside the window. It was beginning to fall harder, piling up and covering everything in a fluffy blanket of white, the multicolored lights of the city reflecting off it. It was strangely peaceful and she couldn't help a calm smile from crossing over her face even with all the other things that weighed on her mind. There had been another death, Near's murder, and everyone felt it. She couldn't say she knew the young man very well (largely because she couldn't remember any of their past conversations), but there had obviously been those who liked him, and a death was always tragic, even in a place where the dead could come back to life. She gave a small look down at her own left arm, feeling the slightest of shivers down it.
But no, it wouldn't do to be depressed. Even if she wasn't sure who would be arriving with all the events considered, the bar was still open, an inviting haven for anyone who wished to come. A table filled with a spread of food--mostly cookies, cakes, and other holiday treats, but there were still some things of substance such as rabbit stew and roast rabbit-- was set against the wall, and she had plenty of hot chocolate and hot cider waiting for everyone. Of course, there was also her well-stocked bar waiting for anyone who might have wanted something a little stronger or something custom made.
The jukebox was also set up, currently cycling through some soft and soothing holiday music, but ready for anyone to select the song of choice. A microphone and small screen was also set up alongside it in the event someone wanted to do a bit of karaoke. There was also a pool table, all the things needed to play currently stored behind the counter and ready to be checked out to anyone who might have wanted to play a game. And for those who wanted something a little more relaxing, there was a new area set up where someone could relax in some chairs or on large cushions and read some books or play board or card games.
But before anything could happen, guests were needed. And so Ginia waited.
