Coda to episode 5.12 with a couple of 5.10 spoilers thrown in the midst. Sam wants to be prepared in case something like this happens again. And in between the pretty lights and the octopus, Dean's distracted.

I can now forgive that mess of an episode since something this awesome has come out of it! Well done and thank you!

Lol! I kind of liked the episode, for the humour and the small tidbits of information it gaves us...
Thank you for reading and commenting!

I read this a little while ago and forgot to comment. I just found it again and have to say it was just as good second time around. I absolutely loved how you used Sam's experience of Gary's asthma to tie the two brother's perspectives together; that idea of their having sychronised their breathing when they were close and growing up together is something I've seem other authors use to good effect in different ways. Yours is one of the best.

You painted what feels like a very true picture, filling in some of the usual unanswered questions we always get at the end of an episode (like how Dean apparently recovered so quickly from being so viciously kicked by the demon; Sam's slow awakening to Dean's true worth; Dean realising what it is he misses about his little brother. It all makes for a heartrending yet hopeful read.

I hate it when that happens, I rely on LJ and Facebook notifying me or I miss everything! I'd forgotten about this - I have a very short memory span which can be useful when reading stories as I can read them over and over and not get tired of them!
