i have come to the realization that college is not only about learning and growing mentally, but its about finding your place in the world

i seriously thought yesterday that if i could get on a plane this instant i would go to new york and be with you. i haven't gotten a stomachache from laughing since you've been gone... i miss you.
thank you for describing my exact experience of New York City and FIT last year. i have stories that would make a person's skin crawl [only an FIT student would relate]. and though i did excel in the City, i wasn't as strong as i thought i was and am now waiting out my return.
oh, and an awesome first year internship that they don't really label as "it" so much is the MTV2 stylist internship. it has the best chances of landing you a job with the company while you're in school. plus, they're connected with EVERYONE! you're an fmm major right?
no-- i have changed my major to advertising marketing communication. buuut, i am seriously looking for an internship, even though i am just first year. im glad to know i am not the only one with the same feelings about FIT--
i also changed my major to ad/marketing-- that's what i originally wanted to do, but fmm seemed so alluring. the best person to talk to about internship advice is susan kavy-- awwwwwwwwwesome lady. she'll not only help you with your internship, she'll take care of any other "office"-type problem you have. for the internship class, Professor Gang was great -- she still sends me updates on random hirings and internship/jobs in the City.
you pin-pointed what FIT is all about [other than climbing the ladder], it's filled with the 'bitches from back when..'. you think you've found your element, but what you've fallen into is the common cliche of 'survival of the fittest'. everyone is just like ya. competition is the word of the day. not to say that any of that is really a bad thing. it's a total learning experience. watch your back [front, side, etc.] and you'll be fine.
Hey Will, I've been meaning to call you. We need to catch up. I miss you. I know what you are talking about. Seriously, my life right now is this weird mixture of what it was and what it will be. Sometimes I just need a break. In any case I just wanted to say, that for me at least, you will always have a special place in my heart. You're one of my few friends that I can not talk to for forever and when I pick up the phone, its like we just spoke yesterday. I hope that came out right. Any way... I love you, you will always have a friend with me! xoxoxo Hannah
