The scene: A get together of friends from a message board I frequent. While we've talked together, becoming close through the words we right, this is the first time we've met face to face. I'm fairly popular on this board, known as a flirt, a sweetheart, a geek, a joker... I'm a little bit of everything to everyone. And when we all meet, I try ( Read more... )

I'm finding that it is for a lot of people. I'll admit, I prefer the voice Kath (puppetmaker40) wrote about to this one. :)

Is there a way we can gag that voice? Really. :)

On the topic of message boards, I'm also reasonably well-known at a message board I frequent, and when we get together in person, I'm also the life of the group. That voice still comes up, though, even though we get together quite often.

Yup-yup on the message board thing. I was part of the Straight Dope Message Board for years and would get together with the NYC Dopers while I lived there. Every time, regardless of how often we got together, the voice came back. It wasn't as loud in Philly when I was organizing the Doper events there, but it wasn't gone either.

Let's go out and buy industrial strength gags. (Boy, doesn't that sound kinky in the wrong kind of way?! :))

Minor edit: becoming close through the words we right. This should, of course, be "write."

I've got that same little voice that pops up every now and then too - great entry!

Thanks, hon. I try to proof what I write and Semagic catches the spelling errors but I'm not always as good with it as I should be. :)

As for the voice... sure does. And whenever I get up your way, it will probably be screaming at me. :D
