Hi there, yesterday I found out that my parents adopted me as an embryo and I am therefore not genetically related to any of my family.
I was wondering if anyone else was in the same situation? I've not found much information on this happening in the UK. I'm 18 and born in 1991 which makes it even more strange in my eyes? I can't imagine that this ( Read more... ) -

I am 17.
I was adopted when I was 7
i have two siblings and a dad iv never met and know nothing about
I havent seen my mum since i was 5, i still love her even though she did terrible things to me including taking drugs around me and allowing her boyfriends to sexually abuse me when i was less than 4.

Hi, I'm new! *Waves*
I'm 21 and was adopted at ~18 months. I'm kinda interested in meeting my birth parents, but don't have a clue about how to go about it. Oh, and there's a problem with that also. My mother is Canadian, and moved back to Canada when her and my father split up. -

Is both parents giving up a child for adoption anything like parents separating and moving out, considering the amount of cases where the child/ren lose contact with the non-resident parent (looking from the PoV of both the parents and the kids)?

Intro.
I was adopted at 7 months old. It was a closed adoption, and afaik, I've never encountered any of my b/relatives since. My a/parents have never hid that I'm adopted from me, and I remember talks when I was small (~3 or 4), standing by the bath with my Mom in it, that started with the immortal line "Mom, tell me again how you got me ( Read more... ) -
