Dogs make you more interesting I recently spent nearly 3 weeks in Perth on my annual leave. The first lot of annual leave since October in 2006

that's mad gangsta I've quit all 3 of my previous jobs due to lame working conditions, am probably going to quit my current job in the next few months for the same reason, and every time I've done it I've wound up getting more pay for less work all the best for your return to the west, personally I hate this place but then I haven't left the state since I was 7 so I'm at a loss in terms of other experience :P
I tried getting into a real uni in Victoria last year but I wasn't good enough. But now that uni is doing weird things with their curriculum it might not be the best idea to start and old fashioned BA there now.
I could have got into a BA course at UWA when I did my TEE so I reckon they should still let me in.
The reference to a desire to go to a 'real uni' doesn't' have anything to do with Victoria.
WA has its problems but the system runs better. The isolation leaves some things that would appear 'old fashioned' in the Eastern States (white uniforms supplied by hospitals for instance) but it also allows cultivation of innovation.
I made it all the way to the end!tajjsterJune 20 2007, 22:39:43 UTC
Let me help you write some questions for other minions: - who gets all your kitchen stuff - what division of your hospital do you work in - where do the bogans come from (answer is not EF) - the smell of what fluid excites you
In all seriousness, it sounds like even though it's impulsive-ish, you've put a lot of thought into your decision and it seems very rational.
I'm glad you're coming back (yay we can finally get to know each other), but moreso that you feel you're going to be more relaxed and satisfied with your life over here.
Anyway, it's only Australia. You can keep changing your mind and travelling between the cities until you grow old. And that's a fair way off. :P
I'm sure no one will hesitate at saying "Welcome home Lyall!". Melbourne is a great place, I too contemplated moving there. But for now I think it is best kept as a holiday destination :)
i actually did read it all... you owe me a drink! i found it so interesting, because i am one of those people who romanticize melbourne a bit too much but the truth is, if i lived there, i'd be working too much to enjoy it too. in fact i was there in feb this year for 9 days, and i did a few of those things on your list. so i think you're right about being able to fly over and enjoy it more. also, im nearly finished my BA and yes it was awesome, i thoroughly recommend it. shame you have to say so long (for now) to your friends in Melbourne though.
You are welcome to the place. I'd say something like "there's not enough room in this town for the two of us" but I can't, so you get lucky this time Furphy.

Perth is annoying but that's where all my established networks are. It also has a real University - UWA.
Regular excursions out of state will keep me sane.
Cheers.

I might have to move over and defect to the west if the conditions are as good as what you keep telling everyone!
