Welcome to the age of The Patriot Act. Where it has now become completely acceptable to question the moral behavior of people who prefer not to have their privacy violated.

Now, it even appears acceptable to criticize people who in fact comply...but who do so only because they have to. Your bosses are saying that unless you pretend to be HAPPY about being monitored like Big Brother 24/7, there is something wrong with you.

That, my friend, is some serious bullshit.

And yeah...I make no bones about it - I blame this President and his paranoid administration for this sort of thing. For six years, they have been setting this sort of 'tone from the top' in this country. And the sheeple are just falling in line.

How sad.

This is nothing new in call centers. It's always been the status quo to watch every move the employees make lest they be using the company equipment to check their e-mail on company time. I knew that going into this job.

So, I'm not so upset about the being watched as having Big Brother's eye on my monitor. I feel it all the time. Do I really need it looking at me as well?

I'd have the same reaction.

Your managers are inadequate.

The call center manager was hired specifically to make the call center more effecient. He's only been there for about a month. Before that, we didn't have a call center manager. So, yeah...

WTF?

Mind you, I hate call center jobs with a bitter fiery passion, but even COAF didn't put a fucking sticker on the monitor going "HA HA JUST IN CASE IT WASN'T OBVIOUS WE ARE WATCHING YOU," just to keep everyone paranoid and constantly stressed they were going to lose their jobs.
