This drabble is a continuation of this previous piece that I wrote earlier.

“Hey sexy,” Sebastian comes up from behind him in line and grabs his ass.

“Stop doing that,” Blaine says, shrugging off the hand that’s trying to slip into his back pocket and moving farther away from the boy.

“Still playing hard to get, I see,” he says with a smirk. He looks at Tina, standing to Blaine’s left, and winks playfully at her.

“You should tell our dear Blainers here that I’m not so bad, right Princess?” Sebastian says.

“You are that bad,” Tina says. “What are you hoping for here? It’s not like you two could ever be together, you know Blaine’s incapable of physical contact.”

Now, you and I know that’s not true, Sebastian projects into his mind. It makes Blaine’s skin crawl every time he does it. What would your precious friends say if they knew that you lie to them everyday? If they knew you weren’t even a mutant?

“Shame, too,” Sebastian says aloud this time. “That ass is far too delicious not to be worshiped.”

“Go away,” Mike says, coming up to them, seemingly out of nowhere, and wrapping his arm around Tina.

Sebastian leaves with little more than a glare. He is a lot of things, but he isn’t stupid. He knows better than to mess with a legacy.

I’ll be by your room at 9, Sebastian exits the cafeteria with that, careful to leave him with an image of the two of them naked on his bed. Blaine pinned down by nothing more than Sebastian’s mind.

“Please tell me you don’t actually like that guy,” Mike says as the three of them make their way over to their usual table.

“You’re joking right?” Blaine asking, glaring at his friend.

He tries not to think about it too much. Tries to push away all of the times his mind has been toyed with. Each time his thoughts have been manipulated and so confused that he’s actually found himself going to Sebastian and asking him to kiss him. It’s disgusting that one person could have power like that. To control his actions.

It’s disgusting that the school that’s supposed to be protecting them from harm is the same school that’s teaching his attacker new tricks.

Blaine opens his mouth to tell his friends, the same way he’s opened his mouth countless times, but his words are caught in his throat. Shoved back down, more like it.

Now where would the fun be if you went and ruined our little game?

Fuck you, Blaine thinks. Hoping that Sebastian hears him.

That’s not how we usually do things, but if you want to change the dynamic, I’m open to suggestion…

“Fresh meat, two o’clock,” Rachel says, stopping by their table, interrupting the silent argument he’s having with Sebastian.

“I’ve heard they’re brothers,” Mike says.

“Step-brothers,” Rachel says with a nod, pushing Tina out of the way so she can take the spot directly across from Blaine. Tina glares at her, but as usual, Rachel barely acknowledges her.

Tina starts to fade, like she always does when she’s so blatantly ignored. He’s just starting to see through her when she takes a deep breath and begins to solidify again. Her control over her invisibility has gotten so much stronger this year. He knows it’s because Mike’s been privately tutoring her after hours.

Blaine sends her a proud smile and she just shrugs, as if mastering her mutation is no big deal.

“I wonder what their story is,” Mike ponders through a mouthful of spaghetti.

“I wonder what abilities they’ll have,” Rachel says. “Nobody seems to know much.”

“Not everything is about abilities. There are more important things, you realize,” Blaine argues, but his friends ignore him. They don’t understand. Mike grew up with X-men for parents. Rachel’s been born and raised at Dalton, barely seeing life beyond this estate. And Tina, well she might be more sympathetic, but she was still as curious as the rest of them.

He figures it’s just part of being a mutant, wanting to know that there’s more than just themselves out there. Wanting to size their abilities up and see where they rank. Who’s more powerful than who and whose life sucks more than the rest.

“They say you can tell a lot about a person by their mutation,” she explains in a condescending tone.

Blaine wonders if that’s true, and if it is, what does it say about him that he doesn’t even have an X gene?

“Take me for instance,” Rachel rattles on. “My star power is so blinding that it’s painful for anyone else to be around me without feeling incompetent.”

“Yeah, that’s it,” Tina grumbles, rolling her eyes. Blaine sends her an amused smile, but Rachel keeps on talking as if Tina hasn’t said a word.

“I’m going to go introduce myself to them,” Rachel says. “Make sure they feel welcome.”

“God, please no,” Blaine says. “That’s the last thing they need, you playing twenty questions. I’m sure they’re overwhelmed enough as it is.”

“As daughter to three of our esteemed staff members, I feel it’s my duty to make sure every student feels at home here.”

Tina hides her snort by burying her face into Mike’s neck.

“Blaine will go, he’s charming enough to make them feel welcome,” Mike says, holding Rachel down in her chair before she can run over and terrify the newest additions. The last new student she’d “welcomed” to Dalton had a mental breakdown and caused an earthquake in the promenade.

“Fine,” Blaine says with a tight smile, so much for enjoying spaghetti day in peace.

He stands up to go great the new students and his breath catches in his throat as he spots the most gorgeous guy he’s ever seen. He’s tall with light, flawless skin, only the vague hue of silver in his cheeks hinting at any mutation at all. He’s dressed to the nines in the most up to date fall fashion that Blaine knows few of the students here can really appreciate. But he appreciates it. God, does he appreciate it.

Slowly, wiping nervous, sweaty hands on his jeans, he makes his way over to the pair of boys standing in the food line.

“Excuse me?” Blaine asks, trying to sound confident as the boys turn around. Always confident, he reminds himself. It’s a key part of his armor here. “You’re new here, yes?”

“Um… is it that obvious?” Kurt says, blushing a bit. And as his cheeks darken from embarrassment, Blaine notices it isn’t with the usual red sheen most people have. It’s dark and silver, metallic even.

“Blaine Anderson,” he says, sticking his hand out for him to shake.

“Kurt Hummel,” the boy says and even his voice sounds amazing.

“Uh, Finn Hudson,” the taller boy next to Kurt says, awkwardly holding his hand out as well. Finn gives the two of them a peculiar look as he shakes Blaine’s hand.
