Fifthteen years old, and he has been with us since he was ten months. Leo sounds like he did when he was a puppy, whimpering. He's walking around the house, trying to squeeze his head into corners of the rooms and crawling under furniture. Last night, while I wasn't home, everyone thought it was the end. It has been done. They said there was nothing else they could do for him.

When we bought him, I was only 11 years old. I was just finishing Junior School for the summer, and heading to Comprehensive School. I remember thinking, "I'm going to be 25 when he dies." It seemed a lifetime away.

I have been 26 for two weeks. He has done well.
