Hello, I am new here. I know so late to the game. Was sort of just looking for a fresh community online to socialize with and expand my circle. Worse thing about fb, twitter,IG, etc. is the fact that a lot of people you actually know are on it but never talk to you. Hoping to find friends here.

The lack of interaction is amongst the things I hate about Facebook and Instagram too. I managed to tear myself away from Facebook several years ago, but I actually felt more distanced from my close family and friends when I was on there than I did in real life. It's so impersonal: you're reduced to nothing but an anonymous user-icon amongst thousands of others, and many (perhaps most) of your posts don't even show up in your friends' feeds. I'm still on Instagram, but it's the same: there's no meaningful communication. It's always the same two or three people posting endless selfies or pictures of their bairn, their dog or what they had for their dinner. I'm still in contact on Instagram with people I originally got to know on LiveJournal, and it's beyond my understanding why they think Instagram is better. There's never been a better platform than LiveJournal for meaningful communication and building friendships.
