I'm not sure how many of you read postsecret, but I still love the stuff. I find that I identify with a lot of them, or at least have at one time or another. This is how I felt after I dropped christianity and before I met Joe. It's nice to know that now when I say "I don't know if marriage is for me" it's not a lie anymore.

Fuck marriage. We're all about living in sin!

"If we love each other, we don't need to sign papers to the effect. And if he's gonna leave me or I'm gonna leave him, no signature is going to change that."

Isn't that the truth! I don't think it's depressing, though...I just think it's depressing that everyone seems to think couples HAVE to get married and then HAVE to have kids for whatever reason. I don't know why people can't just stay the hell out of everyone else's business.

I know I says this all the time, but I think marriage ought to be done away with as anything but a religious ceremony, and everyone else ought to be able to get civil unions, limited to a couple of years at a time, renewable at that time...and all that only if they want the tax/insurance benefits(and don't get me started on those :) )

Yeah, the whole taxes/health benefits/legal rights thing is the only hitch. I don't want to have to get married for those purposes, but eventually I'm sure we'll at least want to work something out legally...

like so when I have a stroke he can visit me in the hospital. ;)
