What my parents could have watched on the day I was born, back when the BBC closed down at night. It was election day, illustrated imaginatively by footage of 'people voting in polling station in Manchester' or 'people walking into polling station in Glamorgan' or 'Voters going in Polling stations at IPSWICH.' I'm surprised there wasn't a local election results show that day. Were the votes not counted until the day afterwards? Also most amusing to see a BBC (educational?) show called COUNTDOWN.
