Went to the Boekenbeurs today and bought the following books:

- Armstrong Karen, Een geschiedenis van GOD, De Bezige Bij, 2006 (1993): The original English title is 'A History of God, From Abraham to the Present: the 4000 year Quest for God'. It's a history of the concept of God throughout judeaism, christianity and islam. Looks interesting enough ( Read more... )

Elke... I totally understand passing on Paulo Coelho for Neil Gaiman. Really. I'm trying to get my hands on his books too.

Now, Dan Brown? Da Vinci Code? ::puts on Hermione self:: Honestly!!!

Well, I just hope you enjoy it and don't find it as obvious and badly narrated as I did.

Oh, I can always send you Paulo Coelho anyways... though you'd have to learn Portuguese to read them ;)

But seriously, you don't need five of his books. His best works (in my opinion) are sumarised in three pieces: The Alchmist, Brida and Veronika Decides to Die, the latter being my favourite. If you don't believe me, ask Atalante. She's read them.

:D

American Gods is FAB. Really.

And yes, Veronika Decides to Die is just amazing. Indescribable, really, but essential.

Okay ladies, I'll keep it in mind!

Also, Elaine, the Da Vinci code is just because I'm about the only religion teacher I know who hasn't read it yet!
