I like all the performances and the studio version of this song. There was significance for all of them, but honestly the way he sang it for Idol Top 2 was unbelievable. I think my jaw was on the ground. I could've just turned off the TV right then and there, I was so blown away. After that I said to myself that he truly is the best singer to ever grace that stage or ever will, period IMHO.
The comments at the end were just plain awesome. Plus, of course, he looked stunning.
Completely agree. I had a tough time choosing between Top 2 and the LA tour date. Vocally the best was Top 2 IMO, but meaning-wise and performance-wise, I say LA tour date.
I couldn't agree more with your assessment, which is why I went with the vocally superior one. But for those who want to reminisce on #realness, here you go:
Yeah, I have a feeling that not everyone is voting for the vocally superior performance in all of these polls and go more for performance and meaning. A lot of my votes would be different if that were the case, but just this one time I decided to go with performance/meaning since it's such a powerful song. ;)
The Idol performance and recording are both incredible, but probably the most meaningful performance of that song happened during the Music Box show - talk about message.
ive never sobbed at a concert before that performance. SOBBED. like COULDNT GET MYSELF TOGETHER. but before that it was the idol live performance which is still my fav american idol performance of anyone ever in life.
