[Claire doesn't answer right away, but her voice eventually swims into focus, so to speak.]

He does have a habit of disappearing during stuff like this.

I don't think he'd actually take off if something hadn't made him.

[The little guy did climb up in her lap after Sylar took the top of her head off, after all.]

It's too dark to look now. Even with all that fuzz, he'd be hard to make out.

Did it happen during the exodus of all the other animals?

I think so. It's hard to be sure if it was the exact same day, but the way he just took off and the timing can't just be a coincidence.

[Peeta doesn't quite understand the importance of pets but]

If I see anything I'll let you know.

Thanks, Peeta, I appreciate it.

[There might be some comparison between rats and her dog to be made, but given the things Peeta has told her about creatures from his world... ]

How are you holding up?

I want my dog back, but other than that, peachy as can be expected.

[She's using the audio function, so that's saying something.]

You?

The same. I've gotten better at ignoring my shoulder.

[Pause.]

I'm trying to watch these things, figure out how they work. Figure out why the bloody hell the deities haven't done a damn thing.

Sam Winchester was on the research track. He's supposed to get back to me if he figures anything out about them.

[A sigh.]

You should put some ice on it or at least take something.

He's really cute. I'm out running around so I'll look for him.

What's his name?

He's only cute until he's molar-deep in a pair of high heels, but thanks. It's Mr. Muggles.

You sure you don't want him to stay lost? [She's joking and it's fairly obvious by the tone of her voice. She does love her shoes though]

It wouldn't be the same if I didn't wake up to a mess of leather and laces at least once a month.

Best chance is either in the wilderness or in the droppings of the harpies.

There's a lot of wilderness, and I haven't resigned myself to digging through actual crap just yet.

Then the only thing you can do is hope your pet returns after all this mess ends.

Or I could get a dog whistle and see what happens.
