My first introduction to BSG was stumbling across "The Story So Far", and the first episode I saw? Resurrection Ship II. Yes, I saw The Kiss first thing. :) The fact that the rest of the season was spoiled for me already made it better, actually, because I knew Laura would make it. (I eagerly awaited the follow-up to her miraculous cure - imagine my disappointment when that turned out to be Black MarketAnyway, I quickly fell in love with the characters and the 'ship, found this place, and was hooked forever. I'm actually not usually a fan of very dark shows, but I loved the characters so much I put up with the angst. (Then I went and wrote shippy fic. It's a coping mechanism, LOL.) I love the A/R dynamic because they're adults, and they've truly grown together - not just fallen into bed. (Though, that part's nice, too

Resurrection ship must have been interesting to watch not knowing much of the build up toward it.

OMG, I fretted constantly about this! I remember meeting RDM's wife at Comic con just before S4 and when the conversation came around to Mary, I told her how worried I was. Her response "Why, honey? We had her signed for five years" :D

I do like the dark, but I've noticed that if something is purely dark, I have trouble sticking with it (I didn't finish The Hunger Games series for example).
I've always loved your hilarious, light and shippy fics!!!

Well, "The Story So Far" is a pretty good summary, but without knowing all the characters, it was tough to figure out what was what. Also, in RSII a good number of them are in flight suits and helmets practically the whole time, making it even harder to identify everyone. I think it was six weeks before I figured out which one was Helo, LOL.

Hey, Mrs. RDM, a lot of stress could have been saved had we all known that!!! :)
Ugh, Hunger Games - started out well, but I agree that the last book was dark just to be dark.
I've always loved your hilarious, light and shippy fics!!!Aww, thanks! As I continue to love your powerful, dark and serious ones. We are like the Jack Spratt and his wife of A/R

I watched the series on DVD over a couple of months and didn't really ship A/R until the Pegasus/RS arc. What made me start to see the possibilities in their relationship wasn't the kiss so much as the "you look someone shot your dog" line from Cain and then the conversation on C1 where Bill is sitting by Laura's bedside. Laura's fierce protectiveness of Bill and his tenderness for her in that bedside scene just killed me. So I guess Cain made me ship them? Then the kiss was a confirmation of all those little hints. I didn't discover fanfic until I was at the end of 4.5 and avoiding watching Daybreak.
When I see people talk about the agony of the spoilers and hiatus and waiting between seasons it makes me grateful that I got to watch on DVD. It was fun to have a new episode to look forward to each night.
And I know what you mean about M/S. It sort of fizzled after DD left and I missed out on the XF fandom.
I'll cancel out your wet prompt with . . . sunlight
I came to BSG after it was over. Someone at work suggested I watch it, so I rented the DVDs, then I couldn't wait for them to arrive each week so I went out and bought the whole set. I WAS HOOKED Roslin (or Mary to be more specific), no two ways about it. I think I got hooked with A/R when he threw her in the brig and then went after her on Kobol. I knew at that moment that they were in love...or at least that he was in love with her. I couldn't wait to get home everyday to watch 3-4 eps and now I'm on my 3rd watching of it. I seem to have a very hard time watching season 4 though. I hate seeing her that way

I came into BSG at the end of season three, IIRC. I caught one episode on Norwegian television mostly by accident and then I went and looked for more. And when I watched A Day in the Life and something about the Admiral and the President clicked. Went back and watched earlier episodes and it clicked even more and inspired me to start writing fanfic for the pair. I guess that's been the majority of my contribution in this fandom. I've met a lot of awesome people too.
Though I wasn't around for the beginning, I have enjoyed the time spent here very much. Gotten interesting new perspectives on the show from various discussions here, have read a lot of good fanfic, gotten some lovely icons and enjoyed fanvids and fanmixes. In short, I've had fun. So while I might not write much more fanfic for this particular pairing these days (feel like I've run out of stories to tell without repeating myself too much, really) I still enjoy poking uin and reading posts.
Um, prompt... 'Survival', for a number of reasons.
Hey -- it's nice too see you back around these parts! You've written some of the most beautiful A/R fic I've read. I understand how it can feel like there isn't anything left to say (probably what sends me looking for other POVs etc.).
When I came into fandom, there was a lot of established fic for seasons one and two, and I enjoyed it so much, though I missed out on a lot of early stuff in this comm. We're hoping to bring some of the fun back, so please feel free to join us!

With a complete lack of shame, I'm going to chose 'wet' :D. You know, like the relentless rain that followed them on Kobol ... yes ... ;)

Yeah, right, I've read your fic. Oh, yeah, right. :D
