Oo! So she teaches Pilates that gets the riders in better shape, or is this about getting the horses fitter? (Don't laugh, there's Doga for dogs, dog yoga, so who knows? We used to do a lot of doga stretching exercises with our old pup. She had pretty bad hip dysplasia, and the exercises kept her mobile until the very end, thirteen years of age.) I really like the idea of targeted exercises for the things you're doing; every spring I wish someone would come up with a training programme for gardening. (Not facetious. After a long stretch of planting / weeding, I always feel it in my back and knees.)
Solar is absolutely gorgeous, the socks are too funny, and I've got a bit of a crush on Captain Jack... *sigh*
Pilates for Dressage is meant to work on the rider so they are stronger and more correct, therefore making the horse more correct. Basically, we want to be better riders for our horses. :)
I'll bet the stretching helped your dog. I have a chiropractor I take my horse to when he needs it (well, when I'm not too dumb to realize it), and I massage him a little after every ride. :)
Thanks. Zolar is all wintery fluffy now. He's quite slick and shiny in the summer.
Here gymnastics for skiing was a very popular course at uni (I assume it still is), but you'd sign up in autumn to get fit for the ski season. (The Alps are calling... lol) But yes, I agree it's very helpful to train muscles in a targeted fashion that you might not otherwise use.
It really did. 😊 We also had an excellent vet, and a *phenomenal* orthopaedist for her. Those ladies made all the difference. They extended her life by years and greatly increased the quality, too. We still practise a little with Wills, but she doesn't need it and responds less well to those commands because they're more rarely used. We should probably work it preemptively anyway. 'Bow'. 'Stretch'. 'Fly'... 🐺
I am so going to try and find those socks. I have a few pair that are thick on bottom, thin on top and they're by Noble Footwear....but they are boring. I love Zolar's "meh" look. :)

Wow, that's some support team. These commands were making her do yoga like poses?
