Rain in Texas

Oct 11, 2019 21:38

Rain in Oregon where I grew up was mostly nice polite rain that would gently fall from the sky for a few days.

Rain in Texas is bold in your face rain that dumps as much as possible in a few minutes. When it gets really bitchy, it will do this for more than one day in a row. This was last week. :/

Wow, that's a lot of water!

My wellies both developed cracks in them where they bent over my toes. I had them for enough years that I got my money's worth, I feel. I bought some new ones last weekend. I'll be able to test them this weekend, since it has rained for the past two days. Not nearly as much as down by you, though.

Ooh, good luck with the new boots.

I looked, and had mine for 1 1/2 years, but they were only 30 bucks. I have a hard time paying a lot for mud boots. :/

Yep.

In Roseburg until 8, then Pendleton for a year, Stanfield until 18, then Portland and Beaverton for college and med school.

Wow that is seriously wet! Can you duct tape your boot? or would it just come loose in the water?

I thought about duct taping it. heh. But then I didn't want to forget about it, and then wear the boot somewhere and look like the dork I totally am. :D
