I sometimes forget how lucky I am to have shows near me. I wasn't able to take advantage of them too much when Lou was around, and now I don't have a horse to ride. But if I did they are close. Our neighbor barn gives little schooling shows regularly in the summer, and USDF and USEF both have events near us regularly.

I hope all the other things work themselves out.

That's great that you have shows near you. If I rode Quarter Horses I'd be golden, but yeah, no. Also, the dressage they have at their shows is lip service dressage (around here, anyway. when they do have it).

Try not to stress yourselve too much, my friend. It sounds like you are doing great. Those animals of your's could't have ended up with a more caring and motivated owner.
