I remember being an altar server at church (though I'm not a church goer these days, as you probably clicked from my journal!) I didn't have to give wine to people but I did a lot of handing things to and taking things from the Minister and it really was nerve racking at times. Everyone was kind and understanding though, and it sounds like the same is true for you.

And yes, in our church we're generally really forgiving of mistakes.

A complete skeleton is a great thing to have. I know an archaeoloist friend who carries around a box of cat bones for identification purposes!

That is cool about the archaeologist. Makes sense. The pelvis looks really weird, all elongated and skinny.
