Don't they have some way to test or check helmets at the kind of places where they sell them?

I wouln't have a clue, the last time I tried to ride, I was still at school, and the horse and I had a basic disagreement on who was in charge. I wanted a nice slow walk, because hello, non rider here, he wanted to make sure no other horse could pass him, and sped up every time one tried, it isn't easy convincing a german tourist who has about as much English as I do German to fcuking QUIT trying to pass me.

I don't think they do. Also, around here, you pretty much have to get them online.

OMG, that must have been a really bad ride for you. And especially if it was a group trailride, the horses are used to their spot, man, don't get in my spot.

lol, it certainly didn't persuade me I ever wanted to ride again, although it fortunatly didn't put me off Wales as efficiently.

Darn. But that's good that it didn't put you off Wales, at least.

I am in the same boat, regarding the lack of motivation and depression. It looks like your injury is healed?

The rule with helmets is: if you have a fall and there is shock to the helmet, replace it. No matter if it seems no obvious damage was done---there could be minute, internal damage to it that will reduce its effectiveness in protecting against injury in the future.

It's good that you ordered a new helmet.

Yeah depression sucks, doesn't it?
My shoulder is getting there. I still take aleve every day, and am doing the exercises.

Does that mean any time you fall? And how do you know if you've hit your head? (very sad question, isn't that lol)
Oh, and you know about replacing them every 6(I think) years, right?

Yeah, I'm getting a new one just to be safe.

I'm kind of late to the party :/ But I would say get a new one everytime you have a fall - whether you think you hit your head or not. Just to be safe :) IRH has a policy that if you save your receipt and have a fall within a year (or 2 I can't remember) they will replace it at a discounted rate :)

That's a good policy. :D
