"Tommy-Tommy-Tommy," she replied with a small smirk and the baby giggled.
"Dada?" Tommy asked.
"Dada's at work, and Mama has to go back to work," Connie said, "And after we pick up some of Mama's work right now, you are going to visit Grandpa

The bullpen was relatively quiet - not empty, but there were only a few bodies about. It was Saturday and none of them really wanted to be there. David was one of the unlucky ones, having just had to arrest a Narcotics officer for accepting bribes among other activities. He tossed his phone on his desk the moment he reached and then dropped himself into the chair.

David laughed. "I'm quite happy with her not knowing the truth until she's 18."

Connie shook her head. "Oh, by the way, I have a playdate with her late next week. She wanted to show me the pictures she drew and also wanted to eat birthday cake with me. So. She's supplying the pictures and I'm supplying the cake...is how I think that ended..."

"The birthday girl has to supply her own birthday cake? I'll remember that on Ellie's birthday." David chuckled. "I like her thinking."

Connie laughed. "She's getting so big."

Tommy saw something shiny on David's desk and leaned over, squirming in his mother's arms as he tried to reach for it.

"I know." He put on a 'terrified' face. "Getting so big and dramatic."

He looked at Tommy. "What you trying to reach for, buddy?"

"Wonder where she gets that from," Connie teased.

Tommy pointed at a letter opener.

"Alex." He replied, quickly. "She's a big drama queen." He joked.

"Oh yeah, that is shiny." David cooed. "What brings you two to IAB, besides my letter opener."
