I guess it would be pretty unprofessional to call in sick the rest of the week to get ready for the wedding...

*sigh*

At least I got approved to have Friday off, months ago.

Oh, and I met with one of the new ADAs the other day, Jeff Bennett. Casey, you'll be happy to know that he seems very competent. *smirk*

I vote yes on the idea to play hooky.

Except that my playing hooky would mean more work for Michael. We're going to be gone for two weeks on our honeymoon, so we're both trying to get a lot done in a little amount of time as it is.

Pffft. Delegate. Besides, you're crazy to try and squeeze all your work and wedding preparations in at the same time. *smirks*

We do delegate, as much as we can. You know how civil service is. For every murder we prosecute, there's a handful more on the backburner.

Thank god. It never fails to shock me about how many incompetent ADAs the city has hired.

Don't worry - you'll like him.

Actually the name sounds really familiar. You said he used to work white collar defense? If so I think I may have had a case or two against him back in the day.

He's only been in New York about a year - but you've done White Collar cases in the last 12 months, so it's possible. He's from Louisiana.
