Ep. Comments: Deux ex Machina

I just wanted to share this SUPERSQUEE about Locke's episode last night. I'm sure everyone else feels the same. I'm ticked that I don't have time to surf around lj today and see what everyone's loving about the ep, but I just want to thank J.J. for an episode that lent credibility to virtually every major fanon pairing. GREAT stuff. Second best ( Read more... )

I guess I'm in the minority that didn't *love* this ep. It was OK. Not as good as "Walkabout." It definitely had its moments, though! ;-)

Boone being the one to die seems too obvious, doesn't it? And yet maybe letting him die would be so obvious it's actually subversively sneaky since we're all looking for it to be red herring? I don't know. Did you read Josh's comment in TV Guide? It makes me think that Jin, Michael or Sayid are most likely to go. I wouldn't miss the first two *at all.* In fact, I think I'd cheer! Esp. Michael since I hated his episode. Def. my least fave.

No! The crappy thing is I'm not really willing to part with anyone. Boone is actually the one character I'd be slightly inclined to give up, but that's about it.

I loved Michael after his episode because I think it really brought out his character. Same thing with Jin--I want to see him grow and develop, especially after he learns some more English. Plus I think he's really hot, so...*^___^*

Yeah, if Boone's injuries are merely a red herring I'd be worried Sayid will get killed off. But I really think it'll be Boone...maybe that makes me gullible.

I'm becoming more and more frightened that Sayid may be killed off.

As his story hasn't developed much? Okay, unless you count his story in combination with Shannon. But he does have another episode coming up. Perhaps that's a positive sign. *hopes*

The thing about Sayid is that he's a really rich character, and definately has a different background from the other characters. Maybe this is just my starstruckness for him coming out. The people to suspect for death are Boone, Jin, Michael, Sayid, and Claire (not very likely). See, the main reason that I suspect Sayid is that he's the most "important" character from this list. Important in both the "character ranking" sense and the sense that his practical and technological skills are useful on the island. His death would definately create the greatest drama.

You're not the only one still worried about Sayid. I just don't see the writers wasting an entire hour on a death scene, not after the twistiness they've shown over the rest of the season. Add in the fact that Boone's eyes are most emphatically not brown, and something else is brewing.

What do you mean? Is this another part of the spoiler hints that I don't know?

In one of Kristin's chats she said something about "beautiful brown eyes closing forever." When the spoilers began to point ominously towards Sawyer it was disregarded as a red herring, only to take precedence again when both MF and JH all but outright stated that Sawyer was not the one on the block. Now that Boone's death seems so cheap and obvious in regard to next week's previews, I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't true and Boone himself is the red herring.
