There was a reason that Colette had never mentioned Marta before now, though she hadn't really had the time to explain that to Genis in her note. She figured she could explain it to him better while they multitasked and tried to find the missing girl that she'd accidentally upset by some weird turn of events

"Colette..."

Genis gently leaned in and squeezed her hands. He still wasn't any taller than her - even if he grew about 3/8ths of an inch - and yet, part of him really wanted to apologize. It wasn't Colette's fault if they hadn't met. Part of him suspected that they'd just regenerated the World Tree in his time, so of course it'd make sense that they hadn't experienced the whole deal with Ratatosk.

"It's okay," He said after a moment, trying to offer her a reassuring smile. "It's not your fault, either. You don't know her, but Marta's become a good friend of ours - and she is kind of over-emotional, so it's definitely more her than you."

He paused, then turning towards the rest of town. "Where do you want to look first?"

"I don't know," she said trying to clear her head. It wasn't working too well.

"I-I just ... I don't know where she could have run off to. She could be anywhere in the city, she could be at the tree, she could have run out of the city ..." Colette didn't want to think of worst-case scenarios, but they were possibilities.

"She couldn't have gotten that far." Genis's reply might've been a little curt - and he winced as he realized that - but he knew it was true. On foot, it wasn't possible to leave Blessenwood and head to Wuldorwurth or Port Merrium or Ouin so quickly. "Sorry," he said after a moment, taking a deep breath.

"I promise, it won't be hard to find her." He tapped his foot, then glancing at the rest of town. "Where were you guys when she jumped ship?"

It would appear that Genis' hunch was right, and Marta hadn't been that far away at all. Colette froze as she caught sight of the girl, unsure of whether or not to proceed. Marta probably wouldn't want to see her ...

Maybe it was better to let Genis take care of things now.

Genis gave her a nod of acknowledgment as he took the lead. Part of him was slightly nervous - Marta probably wouldn't recognize him as Genis at first, especially if he spoke - but he had to do something. Kneeling down beside Marta, he then gently wrapped his arms around her from behind and embraced her.

"Marta... Hey, it's gonna be okay."

He didn't really know what else to do, but Raine'd acted the same way whenever he was upset about something and it worked for her so... why not now?

"It's me," He continued after a moment. "I know I might sound a little different to you, but it's Genis. Remember?"
