A list of all the possible classes in Ad Libitum. It signifies Starter and Elite classes - the difference being that Elite classes have more experience (ie, OCs or canons from early points in canon are more likely to take Starter classes) - as well as each class's weapons of choice.

STARTER CLASSES
Warrior: These melee fighters specialize in close-range combat and typically have high physical strength.
(Weapons of choice: Swords, Axes, other blunt/sharp/pointy objects)
Thief: Specializing in the art of pickpocketing, lock-picking, and other nefarious purposes, they typically use quick attacks to give enemies less chances to fight back.
(Weapons of choice: Daggers, Chakrams, other close-range weapons)
Mage: Like the Black Mage in Final Fantasy games, they prefer using offensive magic spells to hurt their enemies.
(Weapons of choice: Staffs, Kendamas, Tonfas, Straws, etc.)
Priest: Typically, the party healer. They might have some offensive moves, but they specialize in keeping the party alive with healing and support magic.
(Weapons of choice: Pens, Staffs, Rods, other unusual weapons)
ELITE CLASSES
Swordsman: A warrior who specializes in swordsmanship, they typically use strong and fast sword attacks in battle. (The only difference between this class and the other two swordsman attacks are the number of swords and speed: a Swordsman has one sword, but he's fast with it.)
(Weapon of choice: Sword)
Fighter: Typically, a fist-fighter who uses quick and powerful martial arts in battle.
(Weapons of choice: Bracers, Greaves, etc.)
Hunter: People who fight with a bow and arrow, they're also known as "Archers" who can hit their target with amazing accuracy.
(Weapons of choice: Bows, Crossbows, other similar weapons)
Ninja: A stronger form of the Thief class, Ninjas specialize in fast-paced fighting with cunning and plenty of trickery. (Smokescreens are especially their best friends!)
(Weapons of choice: Cards, Short Swords, Nunchucks, etc.)
Bishop: A stronger form of either the Mage or Priest class, these magic-users have stronger offensive and healing magic in their arsenal. Able to both heal and attack with magic, they're invaluable on quests.
(Weapons of choice: Staffs, Straws, Hammers, Pens, Kendamas, Rods, etc.)
Magic Knight: A swordsman who also knows a handy amount of magic. These guys are the "jack of all trades," adept at both magic and physical fighting, but master of neither class. (Think Zelos and Kratos.)
(Weapon of Choice: Sword)
Dual Swordsman: A swordsman who uses two swords in battle for added damage and speed in battle. AKA Lloyd Irving's class.
(Weapon of Choice: Two Swords)
Great Swordsman: A slower form of the Swordsman class that uses one long, powerful sword to deal heavy damage to his/her enemies.
(Weapon of Choice: Broadsword)
Pirate: Navigators of the high seas, Pirates are skilled in long-range and close-range combat to keep their loot and prey at an arm's length.
(Weapons of Choice: Daggers, Pistols)
Monk: A Fighter who's also capable of healing his/her party whenever necessary.
(Weapons of Choice: Fists, Bracers, Greaves)
Paladin: A Great Swordsman who can use healing spells.
(Weapon of Choice: Broadswords)
Lancer: Adept with spears and other long-ranged weapons, these fighters can easily use long-ranged and close-range attacks with no problem!
(Weapons of Choice: Spears)
Puppeteer: A Mage who can use giant puppets as a weapon, these mages use their puppets as physical weapons and a barrier from monsters.
(Weapons of Choice: Staffs, Puppets/Dolls)
Miko: Known as "Chosen" in the US, a Miko is someone blessed with supernatural abilities to save his/her world. As this class is special to Zelos Wilder and Colette Brunel, it technically isn't a special class so much as... a name.
(Weapon of Choice: Chakrams, Broadswords)
