Fun with Numbers

Over the weekend I began a major purge of my belongings, starting with clothing. My closet and bureau drawers were emptied and several large garbage bags packed and hauled to the Salvation Army. It always feels good to get rid of stuff ( Read more... )

New post from you: Priceless

It is of course absolutely impossible for me to drop items off at the thrift store without taking a look around to see what's worth buying

It's the opposite for me at my local Salvy's. The people who work inside are stupid and mean, so it's much easier for me to dump stuff off than walk in. I thought it was just bad luck on my part, but after a particularly bad experience on my last visit, I bitched about it to some friends, and everyone agreed that the Pitman Street Salvy's is the meanest around, and for all that, they have an awful selection, too, and not really great pricing. No one I know really goes there anymore, except to get rid of stuff.

Unrelated, you'll probably like the review in our next issue of Legend of Godspell.

That's odd. I've never had any problems with the SA staff at any of their locations I've been to. Some of the stores may be a bit sloppier than others, the staff exhibit varying degrees of competence and selection seems to be hit or miss pretty much everywhere, but overall my experience with SA has been positive. Why does the Pitman St. store have such an attitude?

Do I take it from several of your comments that you're still with the paper, or are you with a different one now?

On Salvy's: There are some two dozen locations in Rhode Island, and most of us have been to about half a dozen or so, especially a certain few that are ace at one thing or another. Everyone, it seems, has been to Woonsocket, which is four stories, and has an enormous furniture stock, including brand-new office furniture that they somehow get through some deal with Staples ( ... )

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I got my Sudha imps yesterday. Thanks so much! And thanks for the tea. :) Do you have a post where I can leave feedback?

Nah, I don't bother with that stuff. Just enjoy the goodies. Thanks for letting me know you got the imps; I tend to worry that every package I send out is going to disappear into some postal black hole. I've seen your name on the forum and am assuming you're one and the same. I'm Syzygy over there. See ya 'round!
