Hmmm.... will have to think about a definative list but should really read 'One Pill Makes You Smaller' by Lisa Dierbeck. Its a about a lolita-esque character with some alice in wonderland overtones :)
Life of Pi by Yann Martel -Read this as soon as possible-nothing else to be said.
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris- fucking HILARIOUS.
Through the Arc of the Rainforest by Karen Tei Yamashita -The most creative, incredibly odd and insightful peice of fiction I've read.
Ishmael by Daniel Quinn -this one is kind of weird too, but will absolutely twist your mind and you'll want everyone you know to read it so you can talk about it.
What do you usually like to read (subject, fiction/non, etc.)?
The Kite Runner The Outsiders by S.E Hinton (EVERYONE's read this book.. so I don't know if you've read it or not hahahah) The Color of Water by James McBride
I haven't read many books lately either.. so you better post up some good books at your writing journal for me to read!

But for the most part, I read books having to deal with finding oneself, drugs, sexual identity, etc.

My favorite book is Prozak Nation by Elizabeth Wurtzel. She also has a book dealing with more drug use called More, Now, Again but I've never read it.
